Abstract

The Office of Religious Affairs (KUA) plays a crucial role in the development and fostering of community life. Therefore, it is a unit within the Ministry of Religious Affairs, located in various regions, and directly interacts with the wider community. Islamic law requires a marriage contract (Ijab Qabul), a verbal declaration of the relationship between the bride and groom. The conclusion is that the religious services implemented have been running well. This is evident from several services implemented. The collaboration between KUA officials, counselors, and community leaders has been supported by the latest service program, the KUA Revitalization, a significant breakthrough program implemented by the Indonesian Ministry of Religious Affairs.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the motivation to deepen the understanding of the Qur’an as illustrated in Surah Yunus verse 57 through a comparative study of the interpretations of Ibn Kathir, M. Quraish Shihab, and Wahbah al-Zuhaili. This study employs a qualitative approach using library research and comparative analysis. The primary sources consist of Tafsir Al-Qur’an al-‘Azhim, Tafsir Al-Misbah, and Tafsir al-Munir, while supporting sources include books, journal articles, and relevant literature on Qur’anic studies and Islamic psychology. The results show that Surah Yunus verse 57 presents four functions of the Qur’an, namely mau‘izhah as advice and warning, shifa’ as healing from spiritual diseases, hudan as guidance toward truth, and rahmah as Allah’s mercy. Ibn Kathir emphasizes strengthening faith and healing doubt, Quraish Shihab highlights psychological and contextual dimensions, while Wahbah al-Zuhaili integrates aspects of faith, Islamic law, morality, and human welfare. Thus, deepening Qur’anic understanding represents a process of spiritual, moral, psychological, and social development that encourages individuals to understand, internalize, and practice divine guidance in everyday life. The perspectives of the three interpreters demonstrate that Qur’anic learning motivation develops from awareness and reflection toward personal transformation and a meaningful life.
