Abstract

The adherence of hypertensive patients to treatment is the key to achieving optimal therapeutic targets. Pharmacists have an important role in supporting patient compliance. This study aims to identify the obstacles faced by pharmacists in supporting patient compliance at the Malang City Health Center. This research is a descriptive study, involving 15 pharmacists. The instrument used is a questionnaire consisting of eight domains of compliance barriers, namely: pharmacist knowledge, patient knowledge, pharmacist care, patient awareness, facilities for assessing compliance, pharmacist ability in pharmaceutical services, drug management, and pharmacist communication with patients. Of the eight domains assessed, three main barriers were found. The biggest barriers are communication with patients (100.00%), limited facilities to assess patient compliance (86.67%) and limited knowledge of patients about the goals and targets of treatment (80.00%). It can be concluded that the obstacles faced by pharmacists in improving compliance are the actual conditions of the working environment of pharmacists at the puskesmas, which are related to the management of health services from external aspects. Therefore, collaboration between pharmacists and health facilities and other stakeholders is needed to overcome these obstacles. Keywords: patient compliance; obstacle; pharmacist; Public health center ABSTRAK Kepatuhan pasien hipertensi terhadap pengobatan menjadi kunci tercapainya target terapi yang optimal. Abstract

College students are a vulnerable group that experiences gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), because it is influenced by factors such as psychological stress and unhealthy eating habits. Factors that make students susceptible to GERD are influenced by unhealthy eating habits. This is caused by a fairly heavy academic load, such as a busy lecture schedule, high frequency of exams and assignments, and limited rest time. This disease is characterized by the entry of stomach acid into the esophagus, which is caused by dysfunction in the lower part of the esophagus. which is characterized by symptoms of chest pain such as heartburn, regurgitation, difficulty swallowing, and sore throat. This condition contributes to digestive system disorders, so that the incidence of GERD is increasing. This study aims to reveal the relationship between diet and the incidence of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) among college students. This study applies a non-experimental correlative quantitative approach and uses a cross-sectional design. Data were collected using a purposive sampling technique, involving 75 respondents who were final year students at the Faculty of Science and Health, dr. Soepraoen Hospital Malang. Data analysis using the Spearman rank correlation test found that there was a significant relationship between diet and the incidence of GERD, with a significance value of 0.000, 0.05. The results of the indicated correlation strength were strong, with a value of 0.638

Abstract

Pharmaceutical Care at Primary Health Care Facilities play a crucial role in ensuring the success of Indonesia’s National Health Insurance (JKN) program. High-quality pharmacy services are essential to improve patient satisfaction, trust, and adherence to medication therapy. This study aimed to analyze the level of satisfaction among BPJS patients toward pharmaceutical care in Malang City using the SERVQUAL model, which includes five dimensions: reliability, responsiveness, assurance, empathy, and tangibles. A descriptive-analytic design with a cross-sectional approach was employed, involving 290 BPJS participants who received prescription services. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and analyzed descriptively with SPSS version 25. The findings revealed that the overall patient satisfaction level was high, with the highest score found in the assurance dimension (93%), reflecting strong patient confidence in the pharmacists’ competence. Conversely, the reliability dimension had the lowest score (87%), particularly in aspects related to drug availability and clarity of medication instructions. This result indicates a service gap between professional competence and operational reliability. The study highlights the need for better integration between clinical and operational aspects of pharmaceutical care. Improving communication, stock management, and service efficiency is essential to enhance the overall quality of pharmacy services at PHCFs and to strengthen patient-centered care.

Abstract

Hypertension is one of the major health problems with an increasing prevalence worldwide. This condition is largely attributed to the lack of public awareness regarding risk factors and preventive measures. Therefore, education is essential to improve community literacy, particularly in relation to the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle to reduce the risk of hypertension. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of the pocketbook “Hipertensi, Yuk Pahami Penyebabnya!” in enhancing community knowledge. The research employed a quantitative descriptive method with a pre-test and post-test design. The results revealed that the average knowledge score before the educational intervention was at a low-to-moderate level (70%). Following the intervention, there was a significant improvement, with an average understanding score reaching a high level (60% increase). The pocket book, as an educational tool, proved to be an appropriate and easily comprehensible medium for rural communities, and it can serve as a model for promotive interventions.
