Public knowledge regarding the correct use of medication and preparedness for emergencies, such as fires and snakebites, still needs to be improved, especially in rural areas such as Karangkemiri Village, Pekuncen District, Banyumas Regency. Inappropriate medication use and minimal education regarding Certain Medications (OOT) that are at risk of misuse, coupled with low community preparedness in dealing with fires and encounters with snakes, prompted the implementation of a community service program entitled "Smart Medication, Emergency Alert". This activity aims to increase the knowledge and preparedness of the Karangkemiri Village community regarding the safe and rational use of medication, the dangers of OOT, prevention and initial handling of fires, and appropriate actions when encountering snakes. The implementation method is in the form of health counseling or education with interactive lectures, questions and answers, and discussions, involving speakers from the Banyumas Food and Drug Monitoring Agency (BPOM) and the Wangon Fire Department (Damkar), and attended by 75 participants from the Karangkemiri Village community. The results of the activity showed high participant enthusiasm, active participation in the question and answer session, and increased understanding of the DAGUSIBU principles, OOT risks, initial steps in fire management, and safe behavior when dealing with snakes, as observed from participant observations and feedback during the activity. This activity was concluded to be able to increase community awareness and preparedness, so it is recommended to be implemented sustainably and expanded to other villages as a community-based promotive and preventive effort.
