Abstract

Beyond its effects on physical motor abilities, ischemic stroke frequently results in psychological and spiritual crises. Loss of "meaning in life," a commonly disregarded effect, can seriously impair a patient's motivation throughout long-term recovery. Psychospiritual therapies, such as the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT), which combines spiritual affirmations with meridian-tapping procedures, are used to address this. The purpose of this study is to examine how SEFT treatment affects ischemic stroke patients' sense of purpose in life in a clinical environment. This study used a one-group pretest-posttest methodology and a quantitative pre-experimental design. All stroke patients at RSUD (Regional public hospital) Jenderal Ahmad Yani made up the population. A purposive sampling method was used to select 39 eligible respondents: individuals aged 20 to 60 who were willing to participate in the Spiritual Emotional Freedom Technique (SEFT). They were also of sound mind (compos mentis). The intervention included two SEFT therapy sessions, which took place over two weeks. To measure the differences before and after the intervention, the Meaning in Life Questionnaire (MLQ) was used for data collection, and the Paired Sample T-Test was used for data analysis. The results showed that the "meaning in life" ratings significantly increased after the SEFT intervention, with a significance value of 0.001 (p < 0.05). Patients said they felt more at ease, accepted their status better, and had more optimism for the future. By releasing negative emotions and bolstering spiritual resilience, SEFT is successful in assisting ischemic stroke patients in regaining their sense of purpose. To enhance holistic and humanistic healthcare services, this intervention is advised as a crucial component of psychospiritual nursing care. In addition to standard physical therapy, nurses are urged to educate patients and their families on this self-help method.

Abstract

Proper and standard healthcare services will provide patient satisfaction in evaluating healthcare performance. Based on interviews conducted in December 2023 in the Surgical Inpatient Room at RSUD DR. H. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province, with 10 respondents, 6 respondents (60%) they were stated that some nurses did not explain the actions to be taken and were slow to respond to patient complaints. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurse services and communication with patient satisfaction in the surgical inpatient room of RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung Province. This study was conducted in March-April using a quantitative method with a descriptive-analytic design through a cross-sectional approach. The study population was 83 respondents selected through accidental sampling (accidental sampling, also known as convenience sampling, is often considered a weak sampling technique because it does not ensure that the sample is representative of the larger population). Data collection instruments used questionnaires with dependent variables of patient satisfaction and independent variables of nurse services and communication. Data analysis used the Chi-square test. The results showed that 94% (78) of respondents stated that nurse communication was always good, and 96.4% (80) stated that nurse services were good. The correlation results showed a p-value=0.000<0.050, indicating a significant relationship between nurse services and communication with patient satisfaction. It is recommended that nurses continue to provide good, prompt, friendly, and always smiling services to patients.

Abstract

Caring behavior involves actions rooted in concern, compassion, skill, empathy, responsibility, sensitivity, and support. Previous studies have indicated that many nurses do not exhibit caring behavior, which is influenced by various factors. Research at RSUD Abdul Moeloek revealed that care was primarily focused on physical ailments, with limited nurse presence and inadequate psychological support for patients. Among the 10 respondents, 75% noted that nurses did not display caring behaviors, such as presence, touch, listening, and understanding, while 25% did. This study aims to examine the relationship between work experience and awards with the caring behavior of nurses in the Internal Medicine ward at RSUD Dr. H. Abdul Moeloek, Lampung. Conducted from March to April 2024, this quantitative research used a descriptive-analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 33 respondents were selected through total sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires completed by respondents and researchers. The relationship between independent and dependent variables was tested using the Chi-square test, with univariate and bivariate analysis. Results showed a significant relationship between work experience (p-value=0.007, OR=19.429) and awards (p-value=0.003, OR=13.750) and nurses' caring behavior. It is recommended that the hospital enhance service quality, especially through training, to improve nurses' caring and friendliness towards patients.

Abstract

Performance is a measurable, both quantitative and qualitative, outcome for nurses who fulfill their responsibilities in providing patient care in accordance with their professional duties. This study aimed to determine the relationships among work experience, motivation, and workload and nurses' performance in the operating room at Urip Sumoharjo Hospital, Lampung Province, in 2024. The research used a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach, conducted from March to April 2024. The population consisted of 37 nurses, all included as respondents through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using structured questionnaires completed by respondents and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-square test. The results showed that 28 nurses (75.7%) demonstrated good performance, supported by adequate work experience in 23 (62.2%), high motivation in 24 (64.9%), and a low workload in 27 (73.0%). Statistical analysis revealed significant relationships between experience (p=0.004), motivation (p=0.002), and workload (p=0.000) with nurse performance (p<0.05). The study concludes that work experience, motivation, and workload significantly influence nurses' performance in the surgical unit at Urip Sumoharjo Hospital. It is recommended that hospital management pay greater attention to enhancing nurse motivation and managing workloads to improve the quality of nursing services provided to patients.
