The development of the modern era, characterized by technological advancement, globalization, and digitalization, has brought significant changes to human life, including Islamic education. On the one hand, these developments facilitate access to information and knowledge; on the other hand, they have contributed to moral degradation, declining spiritual awareness, and increasing psychological problems among younger generations. This study aims to analyze the role of Sufism in shaping Islamic education in the modern era. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method. Data were collected from various sources, including books, scientific journal articles, and previous studies related to Sufism and Islamic education. Data were analyzed using content analysis techniques through the processes of identifying, classifying, and interpreting relevant information from the literature. The findings reveal that Sufism plays a strategic role in modern Islamic education, particularly in character building, strengthening spirituality, self-control, and improving students’ mental well-being. Sufi values such as sincerity (ikhlas), patience (sabr), gratitude (shukr), trust in God (tawakkal), self-reflection (muhasabah), and remembrance of God (dhikr) are highly relevant in addressing the challenges of modern life. Furthermore, the implementation of Sufi values through religious practices, teachers’ role modeling, and a religious school culture can create a balance between intellectual achievement and spiritual maturity. Therefore, Sufism can serve as an important approach in developing Islamic education that aims to produce knowledgeable individuals with noble character and strong spiritual resilience
