Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the influence of job stress and job satisfaction on turnover intention among Generation Z workers in the manufacturing industry in Sidoarjo. The research method used was a quantitative approach with a purposive sampling technique involving 84 respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Partial Least Squares-based Structural Equation Modeling (SEM-PLS). The results showed that job stress had a positive and significant effect on turnover intention, meaning that the higher the level of job stress, the greater the employees’ tendency to leave their jobs. Meanwhile, job satisfaction had a significant effect but was unable to reduce turnover intention; therefore, the hypothesis of a negative relationship was not supported, which was attributed to the characteristics of Generation Z who were still in the exploration stage.
