Abstract

Muthawif and Tour Leader (TL) services have a strategic role in supporting the smooth running of the Umrah pilgrimage, especially for elderly pilgrims who need assistance. However, the practice of Umrah services in the field is inseparable from social dynamics, such as differences in the competence of companions and the potential for inequality in the division of roles and workloads, which can affect the quality of pilgrims' services. This research aims to understand the humanist services provided by Muthawif and TL in building the experience of worship, loyalty, and word of mouth of Umrah pilgrims. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study design on the Surya Madina Umrah bureau, involving 47 Umrah pilgrims departing on January 10, 2026. The data collection technique was carried out through observation, distribution of service assessment questionnaires, and brief interviews with pilgrims. The results of the study show that humanistic services characterized by an empathetic attitude, patience, friendliness, clarity of communication, and mentoring are able to create a sense of comfort for worshippers, increase understanding during worship, and encourage the formation of loyalty and positive word of mouth. However, this study also found that there is a dynamic division of roles and workload between Muthawif and TL which has the potential to have an impact on the physical and mental condition of officers as well as the sustainability of service quality. This study concludes that humanist services in Umrah do not only depend on the quality of empathic interaction with pilgrims, but also require proportional, professional, and sustainable management of human resources to maintain the quality of long-term services.

Abstract

The implementation of the Academic Competency Test (TKA) at the elementary school (SD) level requires the academic and mental readiness of grade VI students in facing the transition to the junior high school/MTs level. This study uses a qualitative approach with the type of field research at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Muhammadiyah Balun. The research subjects include classroom teachers, core subject teachers, and low-achieving students in class VI. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and observations, and analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing by triangulating sources. The results of the study show that teachers' strategies in tutoring include early identification of students' learning difficulties, strengthening basic academic competencies through remedial and contextual learning, individual and small group learning assistance, habituation to dealing with the characteristics of foreign workers, and the use of digital technology as a learning support medium. The implementation of the strategy is supported by the commitment of teachers and emotional closeness to students, but still faces obstacles in the form of time constraints and the unavailability of structured tutoring programs. This study confirms that adaptive tutoring plays an important role in increasing the academic readiness of low-achieving students to face TKA 2026.

Abstract

Background: Bullying in primary schools remains a critical issue, while character education practices often lack structured, literacy-based media that are developmentally appropriate for young learners. Previous studies have primarily emphasized anti-bullying programs or moral instruction without developing systematic instructional media adjusted to lower-grade students. Aims: This study aimed to develop and examine the appropriateness and practical use of an Anti-Bullying Encyclopedia to foster social responsibility attitude among third-grade primary school students. Methods: This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). The study was conducted in an elementary school in Tangerang, Indonesia, involving 21 students, one classroom teacher, one media expert, and one material expert. Data were collected through observations, interviews, expert validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. Results: The results showed high appropriateness levels, with validation scores of 81.75% (media expert), 80.20% (material expert), and 81.70% (teacher), yielding an overall average of 80.13% (very appropriate). The result of students’ try-out was positive with overall average 76.90 of appropriate category. Conclusions: These findings indicate that the Anti-Bullying Encyclopedia is practical and suitable for classroom use especially for primary school students. Â
