Abstract

Education is the main pillar in forming individuals who are able to face global challenges in the modern era. This study aims to depict teachers' perceptions of deep learning-based instruction, including a deeper understanding of its definition. The subjects in this study consisted of 30 teachers in Nagekeo Regency from elementary to secondary school level. A set of questionnaires consisting of open and closed questions about teachers' perceptions and understanding of deep learning-based instruction and 21st century skills preparation were developed and implemented. Responses from science teachers were analyzed through interpretive methods to gain their understanding and perspectives. The results of the study show that 1) most teachers (83%) know about 21st century skills, 2) deep learning-based instruction is quite well understood (62,4%) by teachers in Nagekeo Regency, 3) the government has paid attention to education but not optimally and 4) 100% of teachers are involved in the subject teacher forum (MGMP). It is important for us to focus on teachers as they play a crucial role in the success of the new reforms. The implication is that there is a great need to raise awareness at the government and teacher levels to embrace deep learning-based instruction.

Abstract

The abundant supply of rice straw in Wangka Village has not been optimally utilized as livestock feed, while livestock farmers face a shortage of forage, especially during the dry season. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of farmer-livestock breeders in utilizing rice straw as an alternative feed through ammoniation technology using urea fertilizer. The activity was conducted on May 8, 2026, involving 15 participants consisting of farmers and livestock breeders. The methods used included training sessions, demonstrations, hands-on practice, mentoring, and monitoring throughout the 21–28-day fermentation process. Evaluation was conducted through a post-test, observation of practical skills, and monitoring of the rice straw fermentation results. The evaluation results showed that 12 out of 15 participants (80%) understood the procedure for producing ammoniated straw and were able to practice it independently, while 3 participants (20%) still required guidance, particularly regarding urea dosage determination and storage techniques during fermentation. Monitoring results showed that the resulting ammonia-treated straw had a softer texture, a yellowish-brown color, a characteristic ammonia odor, and did not rot, making it suitable for use as livestock feed. In addition, 10 out of 15 participants (66.7%) stated that they would continue to apply the ammonia treatment technology in the next harvest season. These findings indicate that training on rice straw ammoniation technology is effective in building community capacity, promoting the adoption of appropriate technologies, and supporting the sustainable supply of livestock feed during the dry season.

Abstract

Kacang goats are a local Indonesian livestock species with high adaptability and play a significant role in increasing farmers' income. Goat productivity is strongly influenced by farmer management practices. The purpose of this study was to review and analyze existing research on kacang goat management practices. The method used was a literature review (journal review) by examining various research findings related to kacang goat management. The results showed that good management practices, including feeding, housing, livestock health management, and the implementation of a good reproductive system, have a positive influence on increasing kacang goat productivity. This increase in productivity is indicated by increased weight gain, high birth rates, and low mortality rates. Based on the results of various journal reviews, it can be concluded that extensive research on kacang goat management patterns has been conducted. Further research is needed to identify these patterns in Nagekeo Regency.

Abstract

Azolla is an aquatic fern with a high protein content and potential use as an alternative material in sustainable integrated farming systems. This study aims to examine and analyze existing research on the use of azolla grass as an alternative material in the context of sustainable integrated farming. The research method used was a literature review, analyzing 25 published scientific journals obtained through Google Scholar. The study's findings examined various research findings related to the use of azolla in sustainable integrated farming systems. The results indicate that azolla can improve feed efficiency, growth, and productivity of livestock and fish. Furthermore, azolla also functions as a green manure, improving soil fertility, reducing chemical fertilizer use, and lowering production costs. Based on the review of various journals, it can be concluded that numerous studies have been conducted on the use of azolla as an alternative material in the context of sustainable integrated farming. Further research is needed on the use of azolla grass as an alternative material to support sustainable integrated farming systems in Nagekeo Regency.
