Abstract

The digital era has revolutionized society, profoundly impacting education and child development. Children’s and adolescents’ gadget use draws intense scrutiny, as parental neglect invites severe negative consequences. In Indonesia, gadget misuse poses a grave threat to the growth of underage children and teens. This community service initiative empowered Pule Village residents to devise solutions to guide and monitor their children amid digital challenges. Implemented through an interactive seminar grounded in Participatory Action Research (PAR), the program positioned parents as key partners in tackling modern parenting challenges. The “Parents as Friends of Gen Z and Alpha in the Digital Era” seminar offered practical strategies to equip parents to foster supportive relationships with Gen Z and Alpha youth. With 50 diverse participants actively engaging in interactive sessions and action-plan distribution, it boosted comprehension of parental roles, digital natives’ traits, effective gadget oversight, learning-focused digital literacy, and role-modeling in worship and socialization. Ultimately, the seminar fostered empowered parenting, mitigated digital risks, and nurtured holistic child development in Indonesia’s evolving landscape.
