Abstract

This research is motivated by students' low awareness of the function of Guidance and Counseling (BK) services as a means of support and problem-solving, particularly in addressing bullying behavior in schools. This situation results in students underutilizing BK services when facing social and psychological problems. This study aims to analyze the synergy between Guidance and Counseling (BK) teachers and Islamic Education (PAI) teachers in building student awareness of BK services to address bullying behavior in schools. This study used a qualitative approach with a library research approach. The research object was the synergy between BK and PAI teachers in addressing bullying, while the study subjects were various relevant scientific sources. Data were collected through documentation techniques from journals, books, scientific articles, and previous research findings. Data analysis was conducted using content analysis techniques through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that students' awareness of BK services is influenced by their understanding of the function of BK, the support of the school environment, and the teacher's approach. Synergy between guidance counselors and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers can increase student awareness through character development, instilling the values of empathy, tolerance, and compassion, and educating students about the importance of seeking help when facing bullying. This collaboration contributes to creating a safe, comfortable, and supportive school environment for student development. Therefore, synergy between guidance counselors and Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is a crucial strategy for increasing the effectiveness of guidance and counseling services in addressing bullying behavior in schools. Keywords: synergy between guidance counselors, Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers, guidance and counseling services, student awareness, bullying.

Abstract

The phenomenon of silent struggle among students has become an increasingly relevant psychological issue in education, as many students experience emotional distress in silence without being able to express it openly. This study aims to examine the dynamics of silent struggle among students and its relevance to guidance and counseling services in schools. The research employed a qualitative approach using a library research method by reviewing various journals, books, and scientific literature related to students’ mental health, academic stress, and counseling services. The findings indicate that silent struggle is influenced by academic pressure, lack of emotional support, unsupportive social environments, introverted personality traits, and the influence of social media that triggers anxiety and insecurity. These conditions have an impact on decreased learning motivation, low academic participation, burnout, social anxiety, and academic procrastination. The study also emphasizes that guidance and counseling services play a strategic role in helping students cope with psychological pressure through individual counseling, group guidance, preventive approaches, and the creation of a humane, safe, and supportive school environment for students’ mental well-being.

Abstract

he digital era has transformed interaction patterns within schools, contributing to the decline of traditional teacher authority and the increasing prevalence of relational conflicts between teachers and students. Conventional disciplinary approaches that rely on reactive and punitive measures often trigger the juridification of education and foster fear of teaching among educators. This study aims to develop a conceptual blueprint of a Relational Mediation Guidance and Counseling (GC) Model as a preventive and curative approach to addressing teacher–student conflicts. The study employed a qualitative approach using a conceptual model development design. Data were collected through digital exploratory questionnaires, in-depth interviews with guidance and counseling practitioners in Central Java, and document analysis, and were subsequently analyzed using an operational gap analysis technique. The findings indicate a tendency toward low student trust in the mediating function of guidance and counseling services, which are frequently perceived as rigid disciplinary instruments. In response to these findings, this study proposes a Blueprint of the Relational Mediation Guidance and Counseling Model that integrates Max Weber’s theory of authority, dialogical relational concepts, and the Islamic values of Adab (ethical conduct) and Ishlah (reconciliation). The proposed model consists of four main pillars: Irsyad (relational-psychological guidance), Ishlah (dialogical conflict mediation), Nashihah and Satar (confidentiality and trust enhancement), and Adab al-Virtual (digital ethics literacy). The model is expected to strengthen teachers’ moral legitimacy, enhance students’ trust in guidance and counseling services, and support the creation of a safe, inclusive, and harmonious educational environment.
