Abstract

This study explores how perceived value and trust shape electronic word of mouth and customer loyalty in the hospitality industry, positioning e-WOM as an intervening variable. A quantitative research design was employed, with primary data collected via questionnaires distributed to 157 guests of the Grand Zuri Jababeka Hotel in November 2025, using purposive sampling. The analysis was conducted using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results demonstrate that both perceived value and trust significantly and positively influence e-WOM and customer loyalty. Moreover, e-WOM plays a significant role in driving customer loyalty and acts as a partial mediator in the relationships between perceived value and customer loyalty, and between trust and customer loyalty. These findings underscore the strategic importance of strengthening perceived value and trust to stimulate favorable e-WOM and enhance long-term customer loyalty. The study offers managerial implications for hotel practitioners aiming to improve service performance and develop more effective marketing initiatives.

Abstract

Although learning motivation, learning interest, vocabulary mastery, and learning independence are recognized as key contributors to EFL speaking development, they are often examined in isolation. This study investigated the direct and indirect effects of learning motivation, learning interest, and vocabulary mastery on English speaking ability through learning independence and identified the strongest predictor of speaking performance. An explanatory quantitative design was employed with 148 undergraduate EFL students selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire and a speaking performance test assessing fluency, pronunciation, vocabulary, grammar, and comprehension. Partial least squares structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM) was used for data analysis. The results revealed that learning interest (β = 0.278, p = 0.002), learning motivation (β = 0.240, p = 0.021), and vocabulary mastery (β = 0.372, p < 0.001) significantly predicted learning independence. Vocabulary mastery (β = 0.309, p = 0.003) and learning independence (β = 0.373, p = 0.001) significantly predicted English speaking ability, whereas learning interest and learning motivation showed no significant direct effects. Learning interest and vocabulary mastery exerted significant indirect effects on speaking ability through learning independence, while learning motivation did not. The model explained 67.4% of the variance in speaking ability and 63.8% of the variance in learning independence. These findings indicate that learning independence is the strongest direct predictor of English speaking ability and a key mediating mechanism linking vocabulary mastery and learning interest to speaking performance. Integrating vocabulary development, learner-autonomy strategies, and sustained speaking practice may therefore enhance EFL speaking outcomes.

Abstract

The Target of this academic inquiry is to identify how the linkage between product quality and customer loyalty by considering the mediating roles of repurchase intention and customer satisfaction among customers of Kopi Kenangan in Bekasi City where the challenges currently faced are tight competition in the retail coffee industry, product quality as the main differentiator and changes in consumer behavior post-pandemic. This research uses a quantitative approach with the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method based on Partial Least Square (PLS) and data was collected through structured questionnaires. The sample in this academic inquiry consisted of 250 respondents selected using purposive sampling, specifically consumers who had made purchases more than once. The study found that product quality showed a statistically significant impact on repurchase intention is 0.805 (positive), customer satisfaction is 0.430 (positive), and customer loyalty is 0.453 (positive),. Moreover, repurchase intention and customer satisfaction were proven to act as mediating variables in the linkage between product quality and customer loyalty. These findings reinforce the importance of improving product quality as a strategic move to build customer satisfaction and customer loyalty in the coffee shop industry. This study strengthens the theory that repurchase intention and customer satisfaction are not only dependent variables between them, but also mutually reinforce the effect of product quality on customer loyalty and focus on local brands conducted in Bekasi City.
