Abstract

Badan air permukaan merupakan komponen penting dalam sistem sumber daya air yang berperan dalam mendukung ketersediaan air serta menjaga keseimbangan lingkungan. Perubahan luas badan air permukaan dapat mencerminkan dinamika kondisi lingkungan suatu wilayah. Kabupaten Kerinci memiliki karakteristik topografi yang beragam dengan keberadaan badan air permukaan seperti sungai, danau, rawa, dan genangan alami. Namun demikian, informasi spasial mengenai perubahan luas badan air permukaan di wilayah ini masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perubahan luas badan air permukaan di Kabupaten Kerinci berdasarkan citra satelit. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan deskriptif observasional dengan memanfaatkan citra satelit multi-temporal sebagai data sekunder. Tahapan penelitian meliputi pengumpulan citra satelit, interpretasi visual, digitasi badan air permukaan, perhitungan luas, serta perbandingan perubahan luas antar periode pengamatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa luas badan air permukaan mengalami peningkatan sebesar 60 ha pada periode 2018–2020 dan penurunan sebesar 30 ha pada periode 2020–2022, sehingga secara keseluruhan terjadi peningkatan bersih sebesar 30 ha. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa perubahan luas badan air permukaan bersifat fluktuatif dan tidak linear. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran awal mengenai dinamika badan air permukaan yang dapat digunakan sebagai informasi pendukung dalam pemantauan sumber daya air di tingkat daerah.

Abstract

This study discusses the development of road infrastructure and irrigation systems during the Dutch colonial period in Kerinci as part of technical, economic, and spatial management strategies. This study employs a qualitative approach with methods based on digital archives, colonial photographs, historical maps, and academic secondary sources. The data were analyzed through visual interpretation, gravitational hydrology analysis, and tracing the historical context of the development. The results show that the irrigation and road systems built by the colonists were designed using simple yet effective civil engineering principles, such as utilizing natural elevation, reinforcing soil with local materials, and integrating drainage and transportation functions. This infrastructure not only served as a logistics distribution and agricultural irrigation but also as an instrument of territorial control and landscape transformation. This research makes a new contribution by interpreting colonial infrastructure as environmental engineering works that were adaptive to the physical conditions of Kerinci. Thus, this study enriches our understanding of colonial engineering heritage and its relevance to conservation, historical reconstruction of space, and environmental sustainability studies in tropical mountainous regions.
