Abstract

Leadership is a fundamental element in shaping student character and attitudes. Student organizations such as faculty student executive boards (BEM) serve as strategic platforms for student leadership education and practice. However, student leadership concepts and practices need to be continually adjusted to be relevant to the dynamically evolving needs of the organization. This study seeks to explore the perceptions of BEM FISIP UBK members regarding ideal leadership, which encompasses motivation, communication, critical thinking, assertiveness, inclusiveness, and responsiveness. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach through semi-structured interviews. The study's results are expected to form the basis for developing an inclusive and adaptive student leadership model. This study also recommends the importance of integrating student perceptions in shaping effective, reflective, empowering, motivating leadership that is capable of creating organizational harmony, thus strengthening the quality of student leadership in the future.
