Abstract

This research is motivated by the importance of parental emotional intelligence (EQ) in facing the complex challenges of modern parenting. This study aims to analyze the application of intelligence-based parenting in building positive relationships with children at Bogenga State Kindergarten. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with Miles and Huberman data analysis techniques. Data were collected through interviews with parents to obtain information regarding the application of emotional intelligence-based parenting, as well as direct observation of teachers to observe teachers' attitudes towards children's behavior. Meanwhile, observations of children were conducted to determine children's attitudes and behaviors according to parent interviews and observations. The results of the study indicate that the internalization of parental EQ through emotional sensitivity, self-regulation, and open communication successfully creates secure attachments and empathetic independence in children. The contribution of this research to the world of education and society is as a reference for a responsive parenting model that can minimize children's behavioral problems and strengthen the synergy between the family and school environment in supporting the growth and development of early childhood. ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh pentingnya kecerdasan emosional (EQ) orang tua dalam menghadapi tantangan pengasuhan modern yang kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis penerapan parenting berbasis kecerdasan dalam membangun hubungan positif dengan anak di TKK Negeri Bogenga. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik analisis data Miles dan Huberman, data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara terhadap orang tua untuk menggali informasi mengenai penerapan parenting berbasis kecerdasan emosional, serta observasi langsung terhadap guru untuk mengamati sikap guru terhadap perilaku anak. Sedangkan observasi pada anak dilakukan untuk mengetahui sikap dan perilaku anak sesuai dengan wawancara orang tua dan observasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa internalisasi EQ orang tua melalui kepekaan emosional, regulasi diri, dan komunikasi terbuka berhasil menciptakan kelekatan aman (secure attachment) serta kemandirian empati pada anak. Kontribusi penelitian ini bagi dunia pendidikan dan masyarakat adalah sebagai referensi model pengasuhan responsif yang dapat meminimalisir masalah perilaku anak dan memperkuat sinergi antara lingkungan keluarga dan sekolah dalam mendukung tumbuh kembang anak usia dini.

Abstract

The urgency of this research is to describe in depth the parents' perceptions of the development of the socio-emotional aspects of early childhood in PAUD. The purpose of this study is to provide practical insights to improve parenting programs, supporting children's socio-emotional development. The study, entitled "Parents' Perceptions on the Development of Social-Emotional Aspects of Early Childhood Through Parenting Programs," uses a qualitative descriptive approach. Conducted at TKK Negeri Bogenga, Susu Village, the study involved three early childhood children and their parents or guardians. The main focus was to explore parents' perceptions of their children's socio-emotional development and assess the effectiveness of the parenting program in improving their understanding. Data were collected through direct observation of parenting activities, in-depth interviews with informants, and documentation in the form of notes, photographs, and activity archives. Data analysis used the Miles & Huberman model, including data reduction, data presentation in the form of descriptive narratives, and drawing conclusions. Data validity was guaranteed through source triangulation (parents, teachers, principals) and technical triangulation (interviews, observations, documentation). Based on the research results, it was found that all subjects had a positive perception of the implementation of the parenting program, although with varying emphasis. ABSTRAK Urgensi penelitian ini untuk menggambarkan secara mendalam persepsi orang tua terhadap perkembangan aspek sosial- emosional anak usia dini di PAUD. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk memberikan wawasan praktis untuk meningkatkan program parenting, mendukung perkembangan sosial-emosional anak. Penelitian dengan judul "Persepsi Orang Tua Pada Perkembangan Aspek Sosial Emosional Anak Usia Dini Melalui Program Parenting" menggunakan metode pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Dilaksanakan di TKK Negeri Bogenga, wilayah Kelurahan Susu, penelitian melibatkan subjek berupa 3 anak usia dini, orang tua atau wali. Fokus utama adalah mengeksplorasi persepsi orang tua terhadap perkembangan sosial-emosional anak dan menilai efektivitas program parenting dalam meningkatkan pemahaman mereka. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi langsung terhadap kegiatan parenting, wawancara mendalam dengan informan, serta dokumentasi berupa catatan, foto, dan arsip kegiatan. Analisis data menggunakan model Miles & Huberman, meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data dalam bentuk narasi desksriptif, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber (orang tua, guru, kepala sekolah) dan triangulasi teknik (wawancara, observasi, dokumentasi). Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, diperoleh temuan bahwa seluruh subjek memiliki persepsi positif terhadap pelaksanaan program parenting, meskipun dengan penekanan pandangan yang berbeda-beda.
