Abstract

The use of textual and monotonous learning methods, without the support of innovative media, leads to low student interest in learning and difficulties understanding paragraphs, especially in identifying main and supporting ideas. The purpose of this study is to develop a digital pop-up book media based on problems. This research is a development research (R&D) with the ADDIE model. The test subjects consisted of 3 experts (content, instructional design, and media) as well as practitioners and 29 fourth-grade students. This study uses quantitative and qualitative data collected through questionnaires and tests to assess the effectiveness of the learning media. This study uses t-tests and chi-square tests to analyze the media's effectiveness by comparing pre-test and post-test results. The results of the product assessment show that all aspects of the test received the "very good" qualification, with percentages above 91%. The data analysis shows that problem-based digital pop-up book media is effective in improving students' understanding of paragraph material. The implication is that this medium can be an innovative alternative for teachers to learn Indonesian. The implications of this media development show that teachers can create effective digital media even with simple applications such as PowerPoint and Canva, as long as they are designed around the right learning approach.
