Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of intake manifold and throttle body diameter variations on engine performance and fuel consumption of a 2019 Yamaha NMAX 155 cc motorcycle using Pertamax 98 fuel. The diameter variations tested consisted of the standard 28 mm, a modified 30 mm, and a modified 32 mm. A quantitative experimental method was employed, with torque and power measured using a dynamometer, while fuel consumption was determined using the volumetric method. Testing was conducted within an engine speed range of 3,000–6,000 rpm. The results showed that variations in intake manifold and throttle body diameters significantly affected engine performance and fuel consumption characteristics. The 32 mm diameter produced the highest performance, achieving a maximum torque of 21.88 Nm at 3,500 rpm and a maximum power output of 11.5 HP at 4,500 rpm. However, this configuration also resulted in the highest fuel consumption, reaching 0.661 kg/h at 6,000 rpm. Meanwhile, the 30 mm diameter provided a balanced improvement in performance while maintaining relatively good fuel efficiency. The use of Pertamax 98 supported a more optimal combustion process and helped reduce engine knocking.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze teachers’ and students’ perceptions of the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in learning within the Mechanical Engineering Department at SMKN 3 Singaraja. The study is motivated by the increasing integration of AI technology in vocational education, which requires readiness from both teachers and students. This research employs a qualitative exploratory approach. Participants were selected using purposive sampling, consisting of teachers and students of the Mechanical Engineering Department. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, non-participant observation, and documentation, and analyzed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model, including data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that teachers perceive AI as an effective learning aid that supports theoretical instruction and administrative tasks, but it cannot replace hands-on practical training in workshops. Meanwhile, students view AI as a learning assistant that helps them understand materials and solve technical problems, although it may lead to dependency risks. In conclusion, AI functions as a supporting tool rather than a replacement for teachers. Proper regulations, improved digital literacy, and strengthened teacher roles are required for effective implementation in vocational education.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of using interactive e-module-based learning media on students' motivation and learning outcomes in Air Conditioner Split learning among Grade XI Electronics Engineering students at SMK Negeri 3 Singaraja. The study employed a quantitative approach using a pre-experimental method with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The sample consisted of 28 students selected through a saturated sampling technique. Data were collected through a learning motivation questionnaire and learning achievement tests that had met the requirements of validity and reliability. The data were analyzed using learning outcome improvement analysis and non-parametric statistical tests to determine the differences between the results before and after the treatment. The results showed that the use of interactive e-modules was able to improve students' learning motivation, reaching 95 percent, which was categorized as very high. The average student learning outcome score also increased from 59.82 in the pretest to 86.07 in the posttest, with the level of improvement categorized as moderate. Furthermore, the statistical test results indicated a significant difference between students' learning outcomes before and after the implementation of the interactive e-module. Therefore, it can be concluded that interactive e-module-based learning media have a positive and significant effect on students' motivation and learning outcomes in Air Conditioner Split learning at SMK Negeri 3 Singaraja. Keywords : interactive e-module, learning motivation, learning outcomes, air conditioner split.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of variations in the number of injector holes on power, torque, and fuel consumption on Yamaha NMAX 155 CC motorcycles with Pertamax RON 92 fuel. The study used a quantitative experimental method with a variety of injectors of 4 holes, 6 holes (standard), 8 holes, and 10 holes. The test was carried out using dynotest to obtain engine performance data as well as fuel consumption measurements at various engine revolutions. The results showed that variations in the number of injector holes affected engine power, torque, and fuel consumption. An increase in the number of injector holes tends to increase engine power and torque, but on the other hand fuel consumption also tends to increase. Thus, variations in the number of injector holes have been proven to affect engine performance characteristics and fuel consumption, so the selection needs to be adjusted to the needs of the user, whether it prioritizes improving performance or fuel efficiency. Keywords: Hole injector, power, torque, fuel consumption, Yamaha NMAX 155 CC.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the effect of curing temperature variation on the tensile strength of dammar resin-based biocomposites reinforced with teak wood powder. The biocomposite consisted of 60% dammar resin as the matrix and 40% teak wood powder as the reinforcement. The curing temperatures were varied at 50°C, 100°C, and 150°C with a holding time of 1 hour. The specimens were fabricated according to the ASTM D3039 standard and tested using a Universal Testing Machine (UTM). The evaluated parameters included tensile strength, strain, elastic modulus, and fracture characteristics. The results showed that increasing the curing temperature improved the mechanical properties of the biocomposite. The average tensile strength at curing temperatures of 50°C, 100°C, and 150°C was 408.64 kPa, 507.37 kPa, and 534.80 kPa, respectively. The elastic modulus also increased from 31,153.33 kPa at 50°C to 429,003.33 kPa at 150°C. Fracture surface observations indicated that higher curing temperatures enhanced the interfacial bonding between the dammar resin matrix and teak wood powder, resulting in improved tensile performance. Therefore, a curing temperature of 150°C produced the best mechanical properties and is recommended as the optimum curing condition for dammar resin biocomposites reinforced with teak wood powder.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a trainer-based learning medium for the brake system topic, determine the medium's feasibility, and assess its practicality. The study was motivated by the limited availability of practical learning media to assist students in understanding brake system concepts within the Automotive Fundamentals course at the Mechanical Engineering Education Study Program, Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha. The study employed the Research and Development (R&D) method using the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, and Disseminate); however, the research was conducted only up to the Develop stage. The research subjects consisted of two design experts, two manufacturing experts, 15 students for the small-group trial, and 30 students for the large-group trial. Data were collected via questionnaires and analyzed using quantitative descriptive analysis. The results indicated that the instrument's content validity score was 0.926, falling into the "very high" category. Validation results showed scores of 91.81% from design experts and 91.25% from manufacturing experts, classifying the learning medium as "highly feasible." Practicality test results yielded scores of 85.80% for the small group and 89.90% for the large group, placing the medium in the "highly practical" category. Thus, the trainer-based learning medium for the brake system topic is deemed valid, highly feasible, and highly practical for use in the Automotive Fundamentals course. Keywords: learning medium, trainer, brake system, automotive fundamentals, research and development.
