Abstract

This study aims to examine how undergraduate students understand and improve their knowledge of IMRAD-based scientific writing following a basic scientific writing workshop. The research adopts a descriptive quantitative approach using a pre-test and post-test design involving students from the Management Study Program, Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Teuku Umar (n=41), with 28 participants completing the pre-test and 26 completing the post-test. Data were analyzed descriptively to compare patterns of understanding before and after the workshop. The findings indicate that students initially demonstrated a basic understanding of IMRAD components, but showed limitations in higher-order conceptual aspects, particularly in distinguishing between Results and Discussion and understanding methodological rigor, as reflected by only 78.6% accuracy in identifying the Results section. Post-test results reveal a substantial improvement, with most students able to correctly identify structural errors, evaluate methodological transparency, and recognize issues such as overclaiming, redundancy, and poor logical flow, indicating a shift toward more analytical and critical thinking. However, the study is limited by the respondent gap between pre-test and post-test, which restricts individual-level comparison. Practically, the findings suggest that workshop-based learning is effective in strengthening academic writing skills, particularly when emphasizing conceptual clarity and applied analysis. Socially, improving students’ scientific writing competence may contribute to fostering a culture of scientific literacy and research engagement in higher education. This study provides empirical evidence on the progression of students’ understanding of IMRAD, highlighting the role of structured workshops in transforming misconceptions into analytical competence and offering insights for designing effective academic writing interventions.

Abstract

This study examines the factors influencing borrowing intention toward online lending applications based on Prospect Theory. A quantitative approach was employed using a structured online questionnaire distributed through Google Forms. Data were collected from 300 respondents selected using purposive sampling, consisting of individuals who had previously used or were familiar with online lending applications. The data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) with SmartPLS 3.0. The findings indicate that financial literacy positively and significantly affects perceived benefit, borrowing attitude, and borrowing intention. Perceived benefit also positively influences borrowing attitude and borrowing intention, while borrowing attitude significantly enhances borrowing intention. These findings demonstrate that Prospect Theory effectively explains borrowers' behavioral intentions toward online lending applications by emphasizing the roles of financial literacy, perceived benefit, and borrowing attitude in shaping borrowing decisions. Theoretically, this study extends the application of Prospect Theory to digital borrowing by demonstrating that financial literacy shapes borrowing intention both directly and through perceived benefit and borrowing attitude, while practically highlighting the importance of financial education and transparent digital lending design in promoting informed borrowing decisions.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has driven a major transformation in the financial industry, including Islamic banking in Indonesia. This study aims to analyze policy strategies and information system implementation in the development of Islamic digital banking based on the principles of maqasid sharia. The method used is qualitative research with a desk study approach and policy analysis of various literature, regulations, and financial institution reports. The results show that Islamic digital banking has experienced significant growth thanks to the support of government policies through KNEKS, the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bank Indonesia. However, major challenges still include low digital literacy among the public, limited technological infrastructure, and the absence of digital Islamic audit guidelines. Therefore, synergy between regulators, industry, and academia is needed to build inclusive, secure, and sustainable digital Islamic governance.
