Abstract

Background: Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive and chronic nutritional problems caused by inadequate nutritional intake due to providing food that is not in accordance with needs over a long period of time. Stunting in toddlers will have a bad impact if it is not addressed immediately. Stunting can be caused by several factors such as inadequate nutritional intake from the womb until the age of 2 years or the first 1000 days of birth, recurrent infections and low birth weight, as well as a lack of maternal knowledge. Methods: The research design in this article is a literature review, by searching several literature sources in the form of research journals and determining the journal as health education, maternal knowledge and stunting in children under five. The selected research journal summarizes the research design, research description, variables and research results. Results: Based on research results from several journals, there is a significant increase in maternal knowledge between before being given health education about stunting and after being given health education. Conclusion: Maternal knowledge has an important role in preventing stunting in children under five. Mothers who understand what stunting is can provide adequate nutritional intake for their toddlers to avoid stunting

The comfort of female students in listening to murottal Al-Qur'an, if it is listened to at a tempo of between 60-70 BPM in a stable manner, without sudden changes in rhythm, and in a soft tone, it will create a feeling of comfort for the female students so that their minds can be more concentrated and focused on one object. This research aims to measure the level of effectiveness of murottal al-Quran on students' concentration levels. Methods: This type of research is quantitative research using quasi-experimental methods. The sample used was 40 students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Fathul Ulum Muncar Banyuwangi. The data collection technique uses the digit span forward and backward test. Results: This research was carried out at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Fathul Ulum Muncar Banyuwangi. This research was conducted on 14 – 19 June 2024 with a total of 40 respondents. The data obtained was then processed with the help of the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences 24 (SPSS 24) program. Conclusion: There is a significant influence between listening to murottal Al-Qur'an in the rhythm of Nagham Bayyati and increasing concentration in students at Madrasah Ibtidaiyah (MI) Fathul Ulum Muncar Banyuwangi

Abstract

Background: The aging process is a natural process of life that occurs from the beginning of a person's life, with several phases, namely childhood, adulthood, and old age. The elderly can experience various changes including physical, psychosocial, and spiritual changes. One of the physiological changes that occurs in the elderly is a decrease in urethral muscle tension due to a decrease in the hormone estrogen which causes urinary incontinence. Urinary incontinence is the involuntary discharge of urine (unconscious or bedwetting) at an inappropriate time and place outside of desire. This study aimed to analyze the effect of Kegel exercises on urinary incontinence in the elderly. Methods: The research design used was pre-experimental with a one group pre-test post-test design. The population of this study was all elderly people who experienced urinary incontinence at the UPT Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Glenmore, this study was conducted on 34 elderly people. The sampling technique in this study used Nonprobability Sampling, namely using Saturated Sampling (total sampling). Data collection used a questionnaire sheet. The data obtained were then coded, scored, tabulated, and analyzed using the Wilcoxon test with a significant value of 0.05.Results: The results of this study show the results of p-value (0.000) ≤ α (0.05) which means that there is an effect of Kegel exercises on urinary incontinence in the elderly at UPT Panti Sosial Tresna Wherda Glenmore. Conclusion: Based on these results, it can be concluded that Kegel exercises can increase the strength of the pelvic floor muscles in urinary incontinence conditions. So it can be used as a non-pharmacological therapy for the elderly who experience urinary incontinence at UPT Panti Sosial Tresna Wherda Glenmore

Abstract

Background: The aging process causes a decline in musculoskeletal function, one of which is decreased muscle strength, which impacts balance and independence in older adults. Balance training is one physical intervention that can improve muscle strength in older adults. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of balance exercise on muscle strength in older adults at the UPT Panti Sosial Tresna Werdha Glenmore. Methods: This study used a questionnaire-experimental design with a one-group pre-test and post-test approach. The sample consisted of 30 elderly people selected by total sampling. Muscle strength was measured using the Manual Muscle Testing (MMT) instrument before and after the intervention. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test. Results: Before the intervention, most elderly people had mild muscle strength (76.7%). After the balance exercise intervention, the majority of elderly people experienced an increase in muscle strength to the normal category (73.3%). The Wilcoxon test results showed a P-value of 0.000 (<0.05), indicating a significant effect of balance exercise on muscle strength in elderly people. Conclusion: Balance exercise significantly improves muscle strength in older adults. This intervention can be implemented as a routine exercise program to improve physical function and quality of life in older adults.
