Abstract

High-pressure common rail (HPCR) systems are essential in modern diesel engines to meet performance and emissions requirements. However, commercial injector test benches remain costly for vocational laboratories and small-scale workshops. This study designs, develops, and preliminarily validates a low-cost diesel common rail injector test bench using the ADDIE (analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation) framework. The system integrates a repurposed Chevrolet Captiva high-pressure supply pump driven by a 1 hp AC motor, a high-pressure fuel circuit, and an Arduino Nano-based electronic control unit (ECU) that applies pulse-width modulation (PWM) to control pulsed injector actuation. Validation was performed using a Denso Hino RN285 injector at low, medium, and high operating stages. The bench generated rail pressures from 360 bar (36 MPa) to 850 bar (85 MPa) and delivered 18.0 to 39.0 mL of fuel over a 20 s collection window. The measured delivery volume at low and medium speeds remained within the manufacturer’s tolerance after interpolation to the actual measured rpm. In contrast, a delivery deficit was observed at the highest speed. Quantitative spray-image analysis yielded spray angles of 15.38-20.44 degrees, within the specified range. The results indicate that the developed bench is a functional laboratory-scale platform for injector diagnostics and vocational training, although further benchmarking against calibrated commercial equipment and long-term durability testing are still required.

Abstract

The objectives of this study are: (1) To get and provide the right periodic maintenance implementation time on CC201 locomotive maintenance. (2) To get and provide the right periodic maintenance implementation time on CC203 locomotive maintenance. The method used in this research is Markov Chain, using the type of applied research. This research uses a quantitative approach. The data collection techniques used are (1) Primary Data Collection; and (2) Secondary Data Collection. Meanwhile, the research instruments used (1) Observation Sheet; and (2) Documentation. The data analysis used is (1) Determination of Condition or State; (2) Creating a Transition Matrix; and (3) Steady State Analysis to get the probability of locomotive conditions in good condition, lightly damaged, moderately damaged or severely damaged. The results of this study show that: (1) The right periodic maintenance implementation time on CC201 locomotive maintenance is proposal II at interval P2 with the highest probability of good condition of 0.609 and the lowest probability of heavy condition of 0.021. With this, a maintenance scheduling policy is obtained for every 1 month to perform periodic maintenance on day 7,128. (2) The right periodic maintenance implementation time for CC203 locomotive maintenance is proposal II at interval P2 with the highest probability in good condition of 0.619 and the lowest probability in severe condition of 0.142. With this, a maintenance scheduling policy is obtained for every 1 month to perform periodic maintenance on day 24,516.

Abstract

This research aims to design, develop, and evaluate the feasibility and accuracy of a motorcycle camshaft copy machine as an alternative to protect the privacy of modified camshafts from copying or duplication. This research used the ADDIE development model, involving: (1) problem analysis and needs analysis, which then produced a motorcycle camshaft copy machine; (2) the design phase, resulting in a Safety Factor of 1.23 with a load of 22.046 lb force or 10 kg; (3) the development phase, including the process of cutting the frame steel, welding to make the frame, drilling to make holes in the frame steel, assembling the motorcycle camshaft copy machine components, and painting; (4) the implementation phase, consisting of a feasibility test with a result of "very feasible," suggesting that the motorcycle camshaft copy machine can be used in workshops; and (5) the evaluation phase, which resulted in good accuracy of the camshaft copy machine. The results of this study indicate that: (1) the motorcycle camshaft copy machine has dimensions of 60 cm in length, 50 cm in width, and 75 cm in height, weighs 26.5 kg, and has a power of 245 watts. (2) The motorcycle camshaft copy machine is declared "very feasible", with a value of 89.23%. (3) The motorcycle camshaft copy machine has good accuracy with an accuracy of ± 0.13 mm.
