Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the determinants of maternal characteristics associated with the incidence of preeclampsia. This study used a correlational analysis method with a case-control approach. The results showed that variables simultaneously associated with the incidence of preeclampsia in pregnancy were occupation (P=0.010) and obesity (P=0.011). Obesity was associated with a 3.30-fold increased risk of preeclampsia, while occupation was associated with a 3.10-fold increased risk. Conclusion: Early detection of risk factors, abnormalities, and complications in pregnancy in antenatal care services is crucial, especially when pregnant women work with high physical loads and time patterns, as well as work stress, which are strongly associated with the incidence of preeclampsia. Obesity during pregnancy is also associated with preeclampsia. Therefore, early screening by monitoring body weight (BMI) during pregnancy in antenatal care is crucial for health workers to reduce morbidity and mortality in preeclampsia cases. Abstract

This study aims to analyse the effectiveness of interactive educational videos on preeclampsia in preventing the occurrence of preeclampsia in pregnant women. The research method used is a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. The results of the statistical test show an increase in knowledge (p = 0.000) and attitudes (p = 0.000) of pregnant women regarding early detection of preeclampsia, decision-making, and the ability to take immediate action when experiencing signs and symptoms of preeclampsia. Conclusion: The use of interactive pre-eclampsia educational videos as a health promotion medium has proven effective in enhancing the knowledge and attitudes of pregnant women in early detection of pre-eclampsia, decision-making, and the ability to take immediate action when experiencing symptoms and signs of pre-eclampsia. Thus, it is expected to be beneficial in efforts to prevent the occurrence of preeclampsia and to develop sustainable maternal and child health promotion service programs, particularly antenatal care.
