Abstract

This study also contributes to the literature on performance management and job satisfaction in the military organizational context. This study aims to analyze the influence of self-efficacy and self-control demands on procrastination, with proactive behavior as a mediator among digital start-up entrepreneurs based in Makassar. Data from 118 respondents were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) with WarpPLS 8.0. Results indicate that self-efficacy has a significant positive effect on proactive behavior and a significant negative effect on procrastination. Self-control demands also positively influence proactive behavior but contribute to increased procrastination due to psychological fatigue. Proactive behavior acts as a mediator mitigating the negative impact of self-control demands on procrastination. Practical implications highlight the importance of enhancing self-efficacy and proactive behavior to reduce procrastination among digital start-up entrepreneurs. Future research is recommended to adopt a longitudinal approach to deepen the understanding of these variable dynamics.
