Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of using an Android-based Physics E-Student Worksheet (E-LKPD)—covering the topics of light refraction and reflection—on students' motivation and learning outcomes. A quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design was employed. The study sample consisted of a single class. A non-test instrument in the form of a response questionnaire was used to measure motivation, while learning outcomes were assessed using a multiple-choice test. Learning motivation was analyzed based on indicator achievement, whereas learning outcome data were analyzed using the N-gain test and hypothesis testing (t-test). The results indicate that the students' learning motivation fell into the high category, and an improvement in learning outcomes was observed. Hypothesis testing revealed a significant effect following the use of the Android-based E-LKPD. It is concluded that the use of the Android-based Physics E-LKPD has a positive impact on students' motivation and learning outcomes regarding the topics of light refraction and reflection.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze trends and developments in research on augmented reality (AR) in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education during the 2012–2021 period through a descriptive bibliometric analysis approach. Data were obtained from the Dimensions.ai and Publish or Perish (PoP) database using the keyword combination "augmented reality" and "STEM education," yielding 127,096 publications analyzed using VOSviewer software for keyword network visualization, density mapping, and temporal overlay. Results indicate significant publication growth, peaking in 2020 (18,717 publications) and 2021 (18,223 publications), reflecting the academic response to post-pandemic digital acceleration. Book chapters dominate publication types (41.35%), while Lecture Notes in Computer Science constitutes the most prolific source. SDG analysis reveals the dominance of SDG 4: Quality Education (7,232 publications). Keyword cluster mapping identifies four dominant research themes: clinical applications, technology intervention design, empirical testing, and learner-centered formal education, with student, intervention, and science as the most central thematic nodes. These findings confirm that AR research in STEM education has shifted from a technical orientation toward pedagogical integration centered on student learning impact.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the evolution of research on critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills in education during the period 2017–2026 using a bibliometric approach. Data were collected from Google Scholar through Publish or Perish and Dimensions.ai and analyzed using VOSviewer to generate network, overlay, and density visualizations. The findings reveal a significant increase in publication output over the last decade, reflecting growing global interest in these competencies. Journal articles emerged as the dominant publication type, while education was identified as the leading research field. The results also indicate strong connections between critical thinking and creative thinking, with creativity, creative thinking, critical thinking skills, relationship, and higher education appearing as the most influential keywords. Visualization analyses demonstrate that these concepts form an interconnected knowledge structure and have increasingly been associated with educational innovation, digital transformation, and 21st-century skills development. Furthermore, the research themes show strong alignment with several Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Quality Education. Overall, the findings suggest that critical thinking and creative thinking have evolved into complementary and multidisciplinary competencies that play a strategic role in education and human development. Future research should focus on integrating these competencies with emerging technologies and innovative learning environments.
