Abstract

Worm infection is still a public health problem, especially in young children who are vulnerable due to lack of awareness and understanding of clean and healthy lifestyles. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge of children at Nurhidayah Binjai Serbangan Kindergarten about the causes, symptoms, and prevention of worm disease. The methods used are counseling with visual media, interactive stories, and evaluation in the form of pre-tests and post-tests. This activity was carried out in March 2025 and was attended by 40 children. The evaluation results showed a significant increase in children's understanding after being given counseling. Before the counseling, only 40% of children knew about worms, while after the counseling it increased to 90%. This activity shows that the interactive counseling method is very effective in improving early childhood knowledge about health. It is hoped that this kind of activity can continue to be carried out periodically to prevent worm disease from an early age. In addition, the role of teachers and parents is also very important in strengthening healthy living habits in the school and home environment.

Cervical cancer is a cancer that attacks the lower end of the uterus that protrudes into the vagina, is generally invisible, but can be felt by the sufferer. The early stages of uterine cancer begin with gradual cell mutation, but are progressive and eventually develop into carcinoma. The purpose of this study was to determine the extent of knowledge of young women about the symptoms of cervical cancer. This type of research is a descriptive survey and the design of this study is cross-sectional. The population is 41 students and the sample obtained is 19 women, the sampling technique uses purposive sampling. Based on the results of the study on the knowledge of young women about the symptoms of cervical cancer, the results obtained were with a score of 3.422 (34.22%), it can be concluded that the knowledge of young women about the symptoms of cervical cancer is categorized as "not good". Abstract

Scabies is a skin disease endemic to tropical and subtropical regions, caused by infestation and sensitization by the Sarcoptes scabies mite. Its primary symptom is nocturnal itching that disrupts daily activities and productivity. Scabies has the potential to spread rapidly within communities such as Islamic boarding schools particularly where sanitation is inadequate. This study aimed to improve understanding and provide education regarding adolescent behaviors concerning environmental sanitation for scabies prevention at the Bina Ulama Asahan Islamic boarding school. A quantitative descriptive survey design was employed, with a sample of 79 individuals selected from the total population using simple random sampling. The results revealed that the majority of respondents (54 individuals or 70.9%) possessed a good level of knowledge regarding environmental sanitation for scabies prevention. Similarly, the majority of respondents (56 individuals or 68.4%) demonstrated a positive attitude toward environmental sanitation for scabies prevention. Continuous educational reinforcement is necessary to ensure that this positive knowledge and attitude regarding scabies prevention are fully applied in daily life, given that the environment of Islamic boarding schools possesses characteristics conducive to scabies transmission in the absence of adequate preventive measures.
