Abstract

Low-voltage cable insulation degradation poses a significant risk to the reliability and safety of power distribution systems, particularly under combined thermal and environmental stress conditions. This study investigates the dominant degradation mechanisms affecting low-voltage cable insulation in distribution networks, using field measurements at the PR009 transformer substation as a representative case. The analysis focuses on the interaction between thermal overloading, electrical stress, moisture ingress, and environmental contamination, and their cumulative impact on insulation performance. A quantitative experimental field approach was employed, integrating insulation resistance testing, dielectric loss (tan δ) analysis, partial discharge evaluation, and theoretical modeling of electrical and thermal behavior. The results indicate that excessive current loading and phase imbalance lead to elevated conductor temperatures, intensifying thermal stress and accelerating insulation aging. Intrinsic electrical breakdown, streamer-induced partial discharge activity, dielectric losses, and limited heat dissipation were identified as primary contributors to degradation. Environmental factors, particularly high humidity and acidic soil conditions, were found to further exacerbate chemical and mechanical deterioration of polymeric insulation materials. The findings highlight the effectiveness of condition-based diagnostic techniques for early detection of insulation deterioration and support the implementation of predictive maintenance strategies. This study provides practical insights for utilities and asset managers to enhance service reliability, reduce unplanned outages, and optimize the lifecycle management of low-voltage distribution cables under realistic operating and environmental conditions.

Abstract

Crackers made from wheat flour and processed fish have become a popular snack among Indonesian consumers. Mrs. Ratih Wardani, owner of Ummi Kemplang Crackers MSME located on Jalan Gatot Subroto, Gang Serasan 1, Bumi Raya Village, Bumi Waras District, Bandar Lampung City, encounters significant obstacles in marketing her products. Narrow market reach hinders business expansion. MSMEs play a vital role in Indonesia's economic development by utilizing local resources. However, digital transformation has become an urgent necessity to expand market reach, accompanied by improved financial management. This community service program aims to enhance production capacity and marketing strategies. Production process modernization is expected to boost the economic welfare of business partners. Marketing improvements were achieved through developing an online sales website that reaches local, national, and international markets. The provision of mixing and cutting machines successfully increased production capacity by 30% while opening opportunities for product diversification.

Abstract

Limited equipment and limited skills are hindering the promotion of the Kesuma Bangsa Herbal Garden Agrotourism. Lack of knowledge of modern production techniques and efficient practices leads to low capacity. Furthermore, inconsistent quality is a challenge due to inefficient introduction and marketing. The lack of a clear and measurable business plan, particularly in terms of manual financial record-keeping, poses a risk of errors in cash management, which ultimately negatively impacts business sustainability. Limited knowledge of marketing and promotion, limited access to markets and distribution networks, and less than optimal use of digital marketing methods. Consequently, the Kesuma Bangsa Herbal Garden Agrotourism market access is limited. Through this community service, the Kesuma Bangsa Herbal Garden Agrotourism market will be expanded not only locally but also nationally. The Kesuma Bangsa Herbal Garden Agrotourism still faces limitations in digital marketing, particularly in understanding information technology that can be used to improve its business. This limitation impacts partners' lack of digital marketing skills. The Kesuma Bangsa Herbal Garden Agrotourism product lacks a clear branding strategy to differentiate its products in the market. This makes it difficult for the business to grow and compete, especially with other MSMEs that already have their own unique offerings. The problem formulation must be stated concretely and clearly in the introduction. Explain the objectives to be achieved through the community service activities with measurable and realistic targets. Also outline the expected benefits of the community service activities for both the target audience and the development of knowledge.
