Abstract

Abstract: Mental health disorders often accompany chronic diseases, increasing the risk of morbidity and mortality. Aisyiyah cadres, as the spearheads of health promotion, play a strategic role, but their understanding of mental health and chronic diseases still needs to be improved. The objective of this community service is to improve the knowledge and skills of Aisyiyah cadres in mental health screening and management for chronic diseases through intensive training. The implementation method includes three stages: preparation (coordination with the Kartasura Community Health Center and preparation of materials), implementation (education, DASS-21 training, relaxation techniques, and brain gym), and evaluation (pre-test and post-test). Participants consisted of 47 Aisyiyah cadres with varying ages and educational backgrounds. The results showed an increase in knowledge from 55.3% (good category) in the pre-test to 61.7% in the post-test. The conclusion of this activity is that the training is effective in increasing cadres' understanding of mental health and chronic diseases. For sustainability, regular training and more intensive mentoring are needed. Suggestions for future research include improving time management to increase the intervention's effectiveness.
