Abstract

Community-based literacy programs have emerged as an important strategy to improve educational outcomes by engaging communities in supporting learners’ literacy development beyond formal schooling. This study aims to analyze the effect of community-based literacy programs on students’ learning motivation and academic performance. The research employs a quantitative approach using survey and academic performance data collected from participants involved in community literacy initiatives. The programs typically include reading clubs, community tutoring sessions, mobile libraries, and collaborative learning spaces designed to strengthen reading habits and provide academic assistance. The findings indicate that participation in community-based literacy programs significantly contributes to increased learning motivation among students. Learners involved in such programs demonstrate greater enthusiasm for reading, improved learning discipline, and stronger engagement in classroom activities. Furthermore, improved literacy skills positively influence academic achievement, particularly in language-related subjects and overall academic performance. The study also reveals that community participation, availability of learning resources, and supportive learning environments are crucial factors determining program success. However, challenges such as limited funding, inconsistent program management, and unequal access to literacy facilities remain obstacles in maximizing program outcomes. Strengthening partnerships between schools, communities, and local governments is essential to ensure program sustainability and broader impact. The study concludes that community-based literacy programs play a vital role in enhancing students’ motivation and academic achievement by creating supportive learning ecosystems beyond school settings. Therefore, integrating community literacy initiatives into broader educational development policies is recommended to improve long-term learning outcomes and educational equity.

Abstract

The quality of educational services is a strategic determinant of institutional effectiveness, stakeholder satisfaction, and sustainable educational development. However, many educational institutions continue to face challenges related to inconsistent administrative performance, limited service competencies, inadequate responsiveness, and insufficient implementation of public service standards. This study aims to analyze how strengthening the competencies of public service administrators contributes to improving the quality of educational services. The research employed a qualitative approach using a descriptive case study design. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, participant observation, and document analysis involving school administrators, education personnel, institutional leaders, teachers, and service users. Data were analyzed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, including data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing, while the trustworthiness of the findings was ensured through source triangulation, member checking, and prolonged engagement. The findings reveal that competency strengthening encompasses four interrelated dimensions: professional competence, communication competence, digital administrative competence, and public service ethics. The enhancement of these competencies contributes to faster administrative processes, greater service accuracy, improved transparency, stronger accountability, and more responsive interactions with stakeholders. Furthermore, institutional support through continuous professional development, digital transformation, leadership commitment, and standardized service procedures significantly reinforces competency development and organizational performance. The study concludes that strengthening the competencies of public service administrators is a fundamental strategy for enhancing educational service quality by promoting efficiency, effectiveness, and citizen-oriented service delivery. These findings provide practical implications for educational policymakers and institutional leaders in designing sustainable competency development programs that support excellent public service within educational institutions.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology has created new opportunities for communities to develop innovative and competitive entrepreneurial activities. However, the utilization of digital technology for business development remains constrained by limited digital literacy and entrepreneurial competencies. The Digital Terrace Program was implemented as a community engagement initiative aimed at enhancing community knowledge and capacity in digital entrepreneurship in Tangerang, Indonesia. The program employed a participatory approach consisting of preparation, implementation, and evaluation stages. Educational activities were conducted through interactive lectures, practical demonstrations, group discussions, and question-and-answer sessions that encouraged active participant involvement. Program evaluation was carried out through direct observation and participant reflections throughout the implementation process. The results indicate that participants developed a better understanding of digital entrepreneurship concepts, digital marketing strategies, and the effective use of digital platforms to support business activities. In addition, the program increased participants' confidence in identifying entrepreneurial opportunities and strengthened collaboration among community members. These findings suggest that participatory digital entrepreneurship education is an effective strategy for enhancing community empowerment and supporting sustainable local economic development.

Abstract

Educational service quality has become a strategic factor in improving public satisfaction, particularly as educational institutions are increasingly expected to provide accessible, responsive, and high-quality services that meet the evolving needs of stakeholders. Despite various educational reforms, disparities in service quality remain evident in many institutions, affecting users' perceptions and overall satisfaction. This study aims to examine the influence of educational service quality on public satisfaction. The research employed a quantitative explanatory design using a survey approach. Data were collected from service users, including students, parents, and members of the public, through structured questionnaires distributed using proportionate random sampling. Educational service quality was measured using five dimensions adapted from the SERVQUAL model, namely tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, assurance, and empathy, while public satisfaction was assessed through perceived service performance, expectation fulfillment, overall satisfaction, and willingness to continue using and recommending the services. The collected data were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to evaluate the reliability and validity of the measurement model and to test the proposed structural relationships. The findings reveal that educational service quality has a positive and statistically significant effect on public satisfaction. Improvements in the quality of educational services, particularly in service reliability, responsiveness, and assurance, substantially enhance users' satisfaction and strengthen their trust in educational institutions. Furthermore, high-quality educational services encourage positive perceptions of institutional performance, increase stakeholder loyalty, and foster continuous public engagement in educational development. The study also demonstrates that educational service quality serves as a critical determinant of public satisfaction by bridging institutional performance with stakeholder expectations. These findings underscore the importance of strengthening service quality management through continuous evaluation, staff competency development, user-oriented service innovation, and effective quality assurance systems. This research contributes to the literature on educational management by providing empirical evidence that improving educational service quality is an effective strategy for enhancing public satisfaction and supporting sustainable educational governance.
