Abstract

The increasing use of conventional medical supplies has led to significant environmental challenges due to waste accumulation and the chemical exposure risks faced by healthcare workers. Despite ongoing efforts to adopt environmentally friendly materials, there is a lack of comprehensive studies that combine Life-Cycle Assessment (LCA) with direct monitoring of worker exposure. This study aims to compare the environmental and health impacts of biodegradable versus conventional medical supplies by assessing their life-cycle stages, energy consumption, carbon footprint, and hazardous exposure risks. A novel comparative approach was adopted, integrating LCA to evaluate raw material extraction, production, usage, and disposal processes, alongside monitoring the occupational exposure to chemical residues from medical supplies. The results indicate that biodegradable medical supplies reduce environmental footprint by approximately 40%, lower energy consumption, and generate less waste compared to conventional plastics. Additionally, the study shows that biodegradable materials pose a significantly reduced risk of chemical exposure to healthcare workers, offering a safer alternative. However, biodegradable materials present limitations, such as availability, durability, and higher initial costs, which need to be addressed for widespread implementation. The findings emphasize the importance of integrating sustainable practices in healthcare settings, offering actionable insights for hospital management and regulatory bodies. Future research is recommended to further explore the cost-effectiveness of biodegradable materials, conduct large-scale trials, and investigate alternative material types. This study contributes to the growing body of knowledge on environmental sustainability and occupational safety in healthcare, providing a valuable framework for future policy and operational decisions.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of village heads' transformational leadership in promoting smart village governance through the digitalization of public services in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. The research approach employed a descriptive qualitative approach, employing data analysis techniques modeled by Miles and Huberman (1994), through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. Seven informants, consisting of village heads, village officials, and community members, were purposively selected to explore their direct experiences related to the implementation of digital systems at the village level. The results indicate that transformational leadership plays a crucial role in fostering motivation, innovation, and participation of village officials in the digitalization of public services. Four key dimensions—idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual attention—shape collaborative and change-oriented work behavior. Digitalization contributes to increased transparency, accountability, and effectiveness of village governance, while strengthening public trust in the government. This study concludes that the success of smart village governance is determined not only by technology but also by the quality of transformational leadership, which is capable of driving social, ethical, and work culture change toward an adaptive, transparent, and sustainable village government.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis gaya kepemimpinan yang diterapkan di lingkungan Satuan Polisi Pamong Praja (Satpol PP) Kabupaten Bangka Barat serta pengaruhnya terhadap motivasi dan kedisiplinan anggota. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui wawancara mendalam, observasi langsung, dan studi dokumentasi terhadap tujuh informan yang terdiri dari pejabat struktural, kepala bidang, dan kepala seksi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pimpinan Satpol PP menerapkan gaya kepemimpinan kombinatif, yang menggabungkan unsur transformasional dan transaksional. Gaya ini ditandai dengan ketegasan dalam pengawasan dan penerapan disiplin, namun tetap menumbuhkan komunikasi terbuka, motivasi, dan keteladanan. Penerapan gaya kepemimpinan tersebut terbukti meningkatkan semangat kerja, tanggung jawab, dan disiplin anggota, meskipun dalam beberapa kasus masih muncul tekanan akibat pola pengawasan yang ketat. Faktor pendukung efektivitas kepemimpinan meliputi kedisiplinan, komitmen pimpinan, dan komunikasi yang baik, sementara hambatan utama berasal dari keterbatasan sumber daya manusia, sarana kerja, dan minimnya pelatihan kepemimpinan. Penelitian ini menegaskan bahwa kepemimpinan yang adaptif, humanis, dan berorientasi pada pelayanan publik menjadi kunci bagi peningkatan kinerja Satpol PP dalam menegakkan peraturan daerah dan menjaga ketertiban umum
