Abstract

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of fifth-grade students in the topic of zakat in Islamic Religious Education at UPTD SDN 2 Citalang, Tegalwaru District, Purwakarta Regency. Preliminary observations revealed that most students had not achieved the school's Minimum Mastery Criterion (MMC) and showed limited participation during classroom learning. This study aimed to improve students' learning outcomes through the implementation of the Mind Mapping learning model. The research employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) design based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, consisting of two cycles: planning, action, observation, and reflection. The participants were 37 fifth-grade students. Data were collected through achievement tests, classroom observations, and documentation. Quantitative data were analyzed descriptively using learning mastery percentages and mean scores, while qualitative data were analyzed descriptively based on classroom observations. The findings indicated that the implementation of the Mind Mapping learning model significantly improved students' learning outcomes. Learning mastery increased from 45.95% in the pre-cycle to 62.16% in Cycle I and further increased to 86.49% in Cycle II. The class mean score also improved from 63.00 in the pre-cycle to 72.30 in Cycle I and 83.51 in Cycle II. In addition, students' learning activities improved from the fair category in Cycle I to the good category in Cycle II. These findings demonstrate that the Mind Mapping learning model is effective in enhancing both students' learning activities and learning outcomes on the topic of zakat.

Abstract

This study examines students' psychological problems from an Islamic perspective, placing heart disease as the root of the problem and spiritual solutions as the primary approach to treatment. Various psychological problems experienced by students, such as anxiety, academic stress, low self-confidence, impaired emotional regulation, and social problems, are understood not only as psychological disorders but also as manifestations of spiritual and moral imbalance. This study uses a qualitative method with a library study approach through analysis of current literature relevant to Islamic psychology, Islamic counseling, and student mental health. The results of the study indicate that the integration of modern psychology with an Islamic spiritual approach through Islamic counseling, worship practices, tazkiyah an-nafs (religious devotion), and moral development can increase psychological resilience, reduce anxiety and stress levels, and strengthen students' mental and spiritual well-being. Teachers have a strategic role as Islamic counselors in building a holistic, balanced educational environment oriented towards the development of students' mental health and character.

Abstract

The digital era presents new challenges in the field of education, particularly in shaping students' character. Reward and punishment are among the strategies used to develop student behavior in line with positive values. This study aims to analyze the use of reward and punishment in shaping the character of elementary school students in the digital era. The research approach employed is a qualitative case study design. Data collection techniques include observation, interviews, and documentation. The data obtained were analyzed through three steps: data condensation, data display, and conclusion drawing. Data validity was ensured through source triangulation and technique triangulation. The results of the study indicate that implementing appropriate rewards can increase students’ learning motivation and positive behavior, while educational punishment can reduce negative behavior without causing harmful psychological effects. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that a proportionally applied reward and punishment model, aligned with technological advancements, can be an effective strategy for shaping the character of elementary school students in the digital era. The implication of this research is the need for educational policies that are adaptable to digital developments, allowing the reward and punishment model to be implemented optimally. Abstract

Learning style theories have long been used to understand individual differences in learning processes. Models such as VAK (Visual, Auditory, Kinesthetic) and Multiple Intelligences offer frameworks for adapting instructional strategies to students’ preferences. However, these approaches have been criticized for their reductionism and limited empirical validity, often neglecting the holistic nature of human learning. In contrast, the Islamic concept of fitrah provides a more comprehensive perspective, encompassing intellectual, spiritual, moral, and emotional dimensions in an integrated manner. This conceptual article aims to analyze and integrate Western learning style theories with Islamic perspectives to develop a more holistic learning paradigm. Through an extensive literature review and theoretical analysis, the article proposes an integrative model that bridges empirical approaches with spiritual values. Theoretically, this integration enriches academic discourse by connecting two distinct knowledge traditions. Practically, it offers a framework for educators and institutions to design adaptive learning processes that address learner diversity while fostering spiritual and moral development.
