Abstract

Strategic Information Systems (IS) planning is an essential aspect in supporting organizational objectives through the effective and integrated use of information technology. However, the implementation of IS at the Muaro Jambi Education Office still encounters challenges, including fragmented data management across various work units and the use of non-integrated applications, resulting in suboptimal support for strategic decision-making. This study aims to develop strategic IS planning using the Enterprise Architecture Planning (EAP) method with the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) approach to align business requirements with data, application, and information technology architectures. The research employed a case study method through interviews, business process observation, and literature review. The EAP stages were applied to design business, data, application, and technology architectures, while the SDLC approach was applied in a limited manner at the analysis and system design stages as a systematic framework supporting the formulation of information system architecture. Supporting analyses included Value Chain modeling, SWOT analysis, and application portfolio mapping using the McFarlan Strategic Grid. The results indicate that information system integration has not been optimally achieved despite the availability of technological infrastructure. This study produces an architectural blueprint and an implementation roadmap as a foundation for integrated and sustainable IS planning. Abstract

Artificial intelligence (AI) offers practical opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to improve product visuals efficiently and affordably. This community service program aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of PT Permodalan Nasional Madani (PNM) clients in Sungai Nilau Village, Merangin Regency, in using AI to create attractive and professional product images for digital marketing. The program employed Participatory Action Research through needs identification, socialization, practical training, and evaluation. Sixteen culinary MSME owners participated, most of whom produced gelamai, a traditional food of Merangin Regency. Evaluation was conducted through direct observation during practice and monitoring of participants’ work shared in a WhatsApp group. Initial findings showed that 81% of participants had never used AI technology. After the program, 94% understood the material and were able to apply it in product visual development. In addition, 57% considered the material and practice relevant to their business needs, while 37% were able to produce visual innovations independently. These results indicate that practical AI training improved participants’ digital literacy and basic skills in developing product visuals for more competitive online product promotion.

Abstract

Digitizing village services is one effort to improve administrative effectiveness and ease public access to information. This community service activity aims to implement digitalization of Mampun Baru Village infrastructure through location QR codes and a digital guest book. The methods used included surveys, preparation, outreach, training, and mentoring with a demonstrative and interactive approach through presentations, discussions, hands-on practice, and questions and answers. The results of the activity showed that QR codes were successfully implemented on various village infrastructure, allowing residents and visitors to quickly access location information via Google Maps. In addition, the digital guest book was able to replace the manual recording system, making administrative processes more efficient, well-documented, and easier to manage. The training provided also improved the knowledge and skills of village officials in operating both systems independently. This program has made a positive contribution to improving the quality of public services, administrative efficiency, and supporting the transformation of Mampun Baru Village towards more modern, information technology-based governance.
