Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of roller weight variations on the performance of the Honda Stylo 160 automatic motorcycle in 2024. The research method used is a quantitative experiment with roller weight variations of 13, 15, 17, 19, and 20 grams. Tests were carried out using a dynamometer to measure torque and power. The results showed that the roller weight variation had a significant effect on the torque and power produced. The roller weighing 13 grams produced the highest torque of 23.55 N.m and power of 13.6 HP, while the heaviest roller of 20 grams produced the highest average power of 13.06 HP. The results of this study can be concluded that the use of lighter weight rollers tends to increase torque, while heavier weight rollers tend to increase the power generated. Although there is a general increase in power with an increase in roller weight, variations in the measurement results indicate that other factors such as engine efficiency also play an important role in motorcycle performance.

Abstract

The CNC Plasma Cutting course is an elective course for mechanical engineering education students who have an interest in deepening their knowledge in welding and cutting using machines with computer technology. The CNC Plasma Cutting practical learning that is currently being carried out is considered not optimal, because the product produced is only a sample. The aim of this research is to: Develop learning tools using practicum modules to meet the learning needs of the CNC Plasma Cutting course in the PTM FKIP UNS Study Program. The method used in this research is development using the ADDIE (Analysis-Design-Develop-Implement-Evaluate) model. The data source comes from students. This development research uses questionnaire data collection techniques. A questionnaire is a written data collection technique. This data collection was carried out to analyze needs and the module evaluation stage. The data obtained from this questionnaire is used as a reference for improving the practicum module being developed. The data analysis technique used is explained as follows. The quantitative data analysis technique in the CNC Plasma Cutting practicum module that was developed was obtained from student assessments. The questionnaire given to students was a closed questionnaire using a Likert scale. The Likert scale is used to measure students' opinions or assessments. Based on the results of the research that has been carried out, it can be concluded that the development of a CNC Plasma Cutting practicum module is very necessary to improve the quality of student learning. The needs analysis shows that this module provides clear structure and guidance, makes it easier for students to take part in practicums, and provides references that can be accessed at any time. The project-based learning method used in this module has succeeded in improving students' practical skills through real projects.

Abstract

The electrification ratio in Indonesia is currently still 87%. This means that there are still 8.5 million residents or the equivalent of 2500 villages that have not received electricity. Indonesia has a lot of potential for renewable energy such as water energy. 7 GW capacity from renewable energy, 66% of which comes from hydropower. The manufacture of pico-hydro scale power plants can be a cheap alternative. Pico-hydro can be applied to irrigation canals so that it can produce small-scale electrical energy. One type of water turbine that can be utilized is a vortex type water turbine. The study used experimental methods. The independent variables are variations in the number of blades 2, 4, and 6 and the distance between the blades and the outlet is 1 cm. The dependent variable of the research is the power and efficiency produced by the vortex water turbine. The data analysis technique in this study used quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. The basin used is a conical basin type with the upper diameter is 40 cm, the lower/oulet diameter is 6.5 cm, and the height is 32 cm. The water discharge in this test has 7 variations, that is 1,12 l/s, 1,26 l/s, 1,54 l/s, 1,68 l/s, 1,82 l/s, 1,96 l/s, and 2,11 l/s. This test produced the highest electrical output power of 9.66 Watts, at a total of 2 blades, the discharge is 1,86 l/s. At the number of blades 6 at a discharge of 1.96 l / d is the highest efficiency value of 6.3%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the assessment of the industry, especially field supervisors regarding the competence of students who participated in the industrial internship program majoring in Mechanical Engineering Education FKIP UNS with a concentration in Production for the 2022 period. This study uses a descriptive method, which aims to collect, analyze, and present data that has a relationship with the problem under study. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. The results showed that the industry's perception of the competence of PTM students was in the very good category and was considered quite in accordance with industry needs, with work attitude as the most prominent aspect (82.5%). However, there is still room for improvement, especially in the aspects of practical skills (74.2%) and knowledge application (76.5%) in order to produce graduates who are better prepared to face the demands of the dynamic world of work. With good assessments, especially in the work attitude aspect, PTM graduates have good competitiveness potential in the job market, but need to continue to improve their practical skills and knowledge application abilities to maximize employment opportunities. Conducting Conduct an in-depth analysis of the gap between the competencies expected by industry and those possessed by students so that it can be the basis for recommendations for curriculum improvements that are more specific to the demands of the labor market and improve the work readiness of PTM graduates.
