Abstract

The Building and Impact Engineering Program (TMB) of the Faculty of Engineering, University of Palangka Raya integrates academic learning with community service in Tanjung Pinang Village through the main focus of the development of worship facilities and the arrangement of regional administration. This service aims to provide a technical solution to the limitations of worship facilities and the unclear boundaries of the RT/RW area which have only been verbal in nature. The methods used include in-depth interviews with the villagers, field observations for data validation, and participatory approaches through dialogue and deliberation with residents. Students play an active role in preparing Detailed Engineering Design (DED), Cost Budget Plan (RAB), and mapping using Geographic Information System (GIS) and GPS technology. The results of this service include a comprehensive prayer room planning document with an estimated cost of IDR 277.053.000 (including 11% VAT) as well as an accurate digital and physical map of the RT/RW boundaries. This program not only produces physical outputs and geospatial data that are beneficial for village governance, but also forms technical competence and social concern of students.

Abstract

High aggregate distribution costs are a common problem. Consequently, alternative strategies are needed that combine local materials with road structural pavement elements. In the city of Palangka Raya, sand and stone are abundant natural resources. Both do not require expensive transportation and are easily accessible. Consequently, they can be combined with other materials to construct road pavements. For this laboratory test, 2 compositions were made using coarse aggregates of Ampar stone, Ampar stone ash, and Kahayan River sand with a total of 30 test specimens (Briquettes). The diagonal method and trial and error method are two approaches used in the Marshall test to ensure the quality of the mixture. The KAO value and Marshall characteristics for the use of Ampar stone and Kahayan River sand in the Hot Rolled Sheet-Wearing Course (HRS-WC) mixture at each composition were determined using the test results. With typical Marshall values for Stability Value of 913.50 kg, VMA of 19.72%, VIM of 4.06%, VFA of 79.23%, and MQ of 269.30 kg/mm, the concentration of OAC in Composition I is determined to be 7.05%. The concentration of OAC in Composition II is 7%, with Marshall values for Stability Value of 938.40 kg, VMA of 19.57%, VIM of 3.92%, VFA of 80.07%, and MQ of 278.51 kg/mm. Therefore, Ampar Stone and Kahayan River Sand can be used as aggregate sources in HRS WC mixtures.
