Abstract

This study aims to knows: 1) the density of vegetation (NDVI) using Landsat-8 OLI/TIRS (Operational Land Imager/Thermal Infrared Sensor). The data used in this research are  the data density of vegetation and an area that is tapped from Landsat imagery 8 OLI/TIRS (Operational Land Imager/Thermal Infrared Sensor) in 2018 years.  The method used in this study is the interpretation of Landsat 8 to calculate the density of vegetation index or diffrerence Normalized Vegetation Index (NDVI) obtained by calculation near infrared to red reflected by plants. Technical analysis using Geographic Information System (GIS) and remote sensing, to determine the value of the vegetation canopy density using the results of calculation of the NDVI, then value the NDVI class reclassified (reclass) into four classes, namely the density of sky or water, stone and open field, shrubs, and forest. Results of the study indicate are: 1) the density of vegetation in the study area with  class of clouds and water  has extensive 1,1 ha, Stone and open field an the area of 7416.1 Ha, bushes  has extensive 8552.0 Ha, and forest has extensive 3945.8 ha.

Abstract

Pressure from modern environment that many can lead to mental disorder. The mental disorders exist because it exceeds the individual psychological endurance. One healing efforts undertaken by the Mental Hospital is making the garden is good to motivate patients. However, in general the design of the garden is still monotonous and can only be enjoyed visually. Should the patient require the involvement of the experience of space, so it is necessary to reorder function better room like gardening area or play area. The purpose of this research is to create a healing garden design that can treat patients with mental disorders in the area of drug. The case study is applied to the area of drugs at the Mental Hospital Dr. Radjiman Wediodiningrat Lawang. This is because garden have not potentially on healing in people with mental disorders by drugs. The research method is qualitative with a three-pronged approach, namely the science of architecture, agriculture, and health sciences. Architectural approaches that achieved with the design process begins with reviewing social issues, led to the idea-concept to realize the plans to get the site plan. Agricultural science approach to the choice of plants and processing, and health sciences approach to evaluate the existing design to patient involvement. Targets are resolved in this study is to examine the problems in the garden psychiatric hospital by producing a draft in the form of working drawings garden. The conclusion of this study is the concept of eco-friendly garden design according to user needs a mental hospital with the concept of healing gardens or garden or healing garden therapies that can improve the patient's recovery

Abstract

The yard is an open space that has potential to be developed as a garden area and pavement, but many people think garden is only a waste land that utilization and modest from the surrounding buildings. The study focused on the school yard with the main building serving as education. Generally students learn in the classroom until after receiving lessons, it sometimes leads to psychological pressure to students such as stress that impact on learning outcomes. One of the architectural healing functions is the provision of a functionally and aesthetically designed garden. The research started with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with school committee of SD Lowokwaru 3 Malang which discussed the need of garden design. The garden is divided into certain zones such as esthetic, productive, and vertical garden zone with simple technology. The garden is not only a passive garden or consumed visually, but students can also be involved directly about the process of making, maintaining and managing it. The purpose of this research is to provide alternative model of recreational and educational garden design for students, while the specific target is to study problems in school garden, analyze, and produce educational garden concept. The research method is conducted qualitatively with architectural design which ends on the concept and follow Gold and Rustam Hakim’s thinking, with adjustment to agricultural science and education. The result of the research is the division of zoning of garden space based on educational space and playing in the concept of architectural design along with the selection of vegetation. The conclusion of this research is the garden as outdoor education facility for school students. Keywords: garden, concept, recreative-educative, and outdoor learning

Abstract

Background: The increase of disease outbreaks that have emerged in the last decade raises the question of whether it is related to climate change? Objectives: This article attempts to provide answers through a literature review. Research Metodes: VOSviewer application was used to help select topics to be discussed. Twenty articles related to outbreak, diseases and climate change were selected and then presented descriptively. Findings: The results obtained by climate change contribute to imbalances that can lead to disasters including disease outbreaks. Therefore, humans should start placing themselves as part of the ecosystem, not the ruler of the ecosystem. Conclusion: A science and technology approach based on local values is needed, by utilizing good environmental communication to provide knowledge to the community so that they are able to adapt and be aware of preventive efforts to realize a healthy life.
