Abstract

This research examined the effectiveness of Pear Deck and Pocable Game in improving students' vocabulary knowledge at SMPN 10 Tarakan. This research used a quasi-experimental method with a quantitative approach and collected test score data from two classes, namely classes VII-I (control) and VII-II (experimental), each consisting of 29 students. Results showed that Pear Deck and Pocable Game significantly improved vocabulary knowledge compared to PowerPoint. The experimental class experienced a more significant increase in mean score, from 69.03 to 86.2 before treatment to 81.62 afterwards. In the control class, the average score increased from 67.31 to 78.12. These findings demonstrate the significant potential of Pear Deck and Pocable Game as learning media that can encourage students to participate interactively during learning, which improves their understanding of pronunciation, meaning, and vocabulary usage. Networked technology and continuous teacher development are needed to create fun and memorable English language learning.

Abstract

Lumbosacral lateral projection radiography, particularly of the fifth lumbar vertebra (L5) and Sacrum, often experiences a decrease in contrast due to exposure factors and object thickness. This study aims to analyze the variation in the Virtual Grid ratio of 8:1, 10:1, and 12:1 in lateral projection sacrum examinations using the Pixel Value indicator. This descriptive quantitative study was conducted in May–June 2025 at the Radiography and Physics Laboratory, Department of Radiodiagnostic and Radiotherapy Technology, Jakarta II Polytechnic. The sample consisted of lateral sacrum images with three grid ratio variations. Analysis was performed on the average Pixel Value, followed by statistical testing using SPSS 27 with the One-Way ANOVA method. The results showed the average Pixel Value: 8:1 ratio at 150.94; 10:1 ratio at 150.46; and 12:1 ratio at 152.75 with P>0.05, indicating no significant difference between the grid ratio variations.

Abstract

Awareness and perception have become a public health and environmental problem for at least the last two decades, so public awareness and understanding of knowledge about natural radiation and radiation protection efforts are needed. The method by providing understanding is carried out by counseling using posters and interactive lectures, accompanied by the provision of pre-post test questionnaires to measure residents' understanding of radiation and the protection efforts that can be done. Then the data obtained will be tested using SPSS 26 to find out whether there is a change in understanding after providing counseling to residents with the Wilcoxon test. The results after the community knowledge counseling increased by 92% for indicators of understanding, utilization, and effects of radiation, while 97% for indicators of radiation protection with antioxidants. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the p value < 0.001 therefore it can be said that counseling activities about radiation and protection efforts can affect the level of understanding of the residents.

Abstract

Pigeon Pea (Casanus Cajan L.) is one of the local foods in South Sulawesi. Pigeon pea seeds contain protein that the body can absorb. This study aims to determine the optimum operating conditions for extracting pigeon pea on protein and yield using Ultrasonic-Assisted Extraction (UAE). Response Surface Methodology (RSM) with Box-Behnken Design (BBD) was used by considering three variables, time (30, 40, and 50 min), temperature (40, 50, and 60oC), and methanol concentration (50, 70, and 90%). The experiment results show that yield ranges from 8.85663% to 31.4766% and 46.1538 mg/l to 15584.6 mg/l. Response variables were computed and used to create the contour plot graphs. The optimum operating conditions for sonication extraction were a time of 44.760 minutes, a temperature of 60oC, and a 90% methanol concentration.

Abstract

The exposure factor is one of the important parameters in optimizing the radiographic examination. This study aimed to analyze the value of the Signal To Noise Ratio (SNR) against the use of the 15% kV rule method in the examination of Chest AP Supine. Descriptive quantitative research method conducted in the laboratory of the Department of diagnostic imaging and radiotherapy, Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health, Jakarta 2, using computer radiography, X-rays, piranha radiation detectors, and anthropomorphic phantoms, with statistical analysis of the Pearson test to determine the level of relationship between SNR and Exposure Index (EI). Against the 15% kV rule method, then the one-way ANOVA test to determine the effect of the 15% method on changes in value. The results of the Pearson test obtained a p-value of 0.820 with a strong relationship between SNR and EI against the 15% kV method. Therefore, using an exposure factor of 15% kV rule method makes it possible to control the SNR and EI values. The one way ANOVA test has a p-value of 0.943, so there is no significant difference in the SNR value to changes in the exposure factor with the 15% kV rule method so that the optimization of the exposure factor with the 15% kV rule method can reduce the radiation dose while maintaining the image quality radiographic

Abstract

Background: Increasing the exposure factor is often carried out by radiographers to reduce noise and maintain image quality in computer radiography (CR). Therefore, there is a need for awareness and understanding of the exposure index (EI) to implement optimization procedures in radiographic examinations. Methods: The research method is descriptive and analytical by providing questionnaires to radiographers in PA chest radiographic examinations. This research was carried out at hospitals A, B, and C in the Jakarta-Bogor area with the research carried out between August – October 2023. Statistical analysis used SPSS 27 with data coding previously. After that, the data is processed with descriptive statistics to determine the frequency, distribution, percentage, average, and standard deviation. Then, the test chi-square to determine the relationship between gender, age, education, and work experience in understanding CR optimization procedures. Next, to find out the relationship between age and weight and EI, a test was carried out by Pearson test to determine the level of relationship between the two variablesResults: was found that the level of awareness and understanding of radiographers regarding optimization procedures using EI is still low. Test results chi-square age-understanding 0.309, gender-understanding 0.772, education-understanding 0.036, experience-understanding 0.201. next are the test results Pearson for Hospital-A: age-EI 0.09, weight-EI -0.49, Hospital-B: age-EI -0.21, weight-EI 0.06, Hospital-C: age-EI -0.37, weight-EI 0.56. Conclusions:  implementing EI in the optimization procedure, it needs to be confirmed by measuring the patient's radiation dose so that there are no errors in implementing the optimization.

Abstract

Humans are social creatures who depend on mutual assistance to achieve their goals. Effective communication is essential to convey one's thoughts and emotions to others. Relationships can also form between individuals and financial institutions such as banks, where individuals have the opportunity to request loans and credit. However, borrowers often fail to fulfill their obligations and as a result face fines for late payments. The lack of self-confidence resulting from these lies makes it more difficult for a person to face the legal consequences of their actions. This investigation focuses on the legal consequences of bank credit agreements and the legal obligations that arise if the debtor fails to pay. This article seeks to provide a thoughtful explanation of the procedures required in recovering a failed debit transaction and the legal obligations that arise as a consequence. The research methodology used is a combination of a normative juridical approach and descriptive elements. The findings of this research are based on legal interpretations of banking laws and the legal responsibilities involved in resolving issues related to failed debit card payments. Mediation is an alternative to direct negotiations between disputing parties, which aims to facilitate resolution. If the mediation process is unsuccessful in resolving the dispute, the next action is to hand the case over to a judge to be resolved according to the agreement between the parties.
