Abstract

Penelitain ini bertujuan untuk mengetaahui pengaruh pemberian tepung daun Indigofera Sp. dalam ransum terhadap performans produksi (konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum) ayam broiler umur 8-35 hari. Rancangan Acak Lengkap yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan 5 (lima) perlakuan, P0 = 0%, P1 = 5%, P2= 10%, P3= 15%, P4= 20%. dan setiap perlakuan diulang 4 (empat) kali. Hasil penelitian menujukkan bahwa pemberian tepung daun Indigofera Sp.dalam ransum berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap kosumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan, dan konversi ransum ayam broiler umur 8-35 hari.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat keberhasilan kebuntingan ternak babi kawin alam dan inseminasi buatan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif dengan mengumpulkan data primer dan data sekunder melalui wawancara dan kuesioner terhadap responden.Parameter penelitian yaitu nilai S/C (Service per Conception), nilai CR (Conception Rate) dan nilai NRR (Non Return Rate). Data dianalisis menggunakan uji student (uji t) dengan dua faktor yaitu data kawin alam dan inseminasi buatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberhasilan kebuntingan dilihat dari nilai S/C, CR dan NRR tidak berbeda nyata (P>0.05) antara metode kawin alam maupun dengan metode inseminasi buatan. Sehingga teknologi inseminasi buatan sama baiknya dengan metode kawin alam pada ternak babi di Kabupaten Tapanuli Utara dalam usaha peningkatan populasi ternak babi.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui Pengaruh Penambahan Tepung Jahe Merah Dalam Ransum Terhadap Performans Burung Puyuh Jantan Umur 2-6 Minggu. Penelitian ini  dilaksanakan di Lahan Percobaan Fakultas Peternakan Universitas HKBP Nommensen, Desa  Simalingkar A, Kecamatan Pancur Batu, Kabupaten Deli Serdang. Penelitian ini dilakukan  selama 6 minggu dari bulan Mei sampai Juli 2022. Penelitian ini menggunakan 200 ekor burung  puyuh jantan. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan Rancangan  Acak Lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 5 ulangan yaitu P0 = 0% tepung jahe  merah dalam ransum, P1 = 0,75% tepung jahe merah dalam ransum, P2 = Tepung jahe merah  1,5% dalam ransum dan P3 = 2,25% tepung jahe merah dalam ransum. Perubah yang diamati  adalah konsumsi ransum, pertambahan berat badan dan konversi ransum. Dari penelitian ini  dapat disimpulkan bahwa penambahan tepung jahe merah dalam ransum puyuh berpengaruh  tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap konsumsi ransum, pertambahan bobot badan dan nilai konversi  ransum.

Abstract

Research with the title effect of mixing cabbage waste (Brasica oleracea) in pig feces media on the productivity of earthworms (Lumbricus rubellus). From November 2022 to December 2022 on Jln. Pelita I. No 37e, West Sidorame II, Medan Perjuangan, Medan City, North Sumatra. This study aims to determine the effect of mixing cabbage waste on cocoon production, increasing the number of earthworm tillers and increasing earthworm biomass. This research was conducted for 43 days. This study used a completely randomized design with 5 treatments and 6 replications, namely P0 (0% cabbage waste in pig feces media), P1 (10% cabbage waste in pig feces media), P2 (20% cabbage waste in pig feces media), P3 (30% cabbage waste in pig feces media) and P4 (40% cabbage waste in pig feces media). The data obtained in this study will then be analyzed for variance (ANOVA) and then proceed with the DMRT test or Duncan's test and the Least Significant Difference (LSD) test. From this study it can be concluded that mixing cabbage waste in pig feces media has a very significant effect (P0.01) on cocoon production, increasing the number of earthworm tillers and increasing earthworm biomass. Based on the results of this study, it was found that the best administration of cabbage vegetable waste in pig feces media was at the level of 30%.

Abstract

Mahasiswa HKBP Nommensen University dapat memanfaatkan kegiatan pengabdian sebagai sarana untuk menerapkan ilmu yang diperoleh di perguruan tinggi. Inisiatif ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kepercayaan diri siswa untuk terlibat langsung dengan pengaturan masyarakat. Program ini berfokus pada pengembangan pola pikir yang tangguh dan meningkatkan kesadaran di kalangan siswa, memberdayakan mereka untuk mengatasi tantangan sosial dan membayangkan solusi untuk daerah terbelakang. Melalui penelitian, pengabdian kepada masyarakat, dan upaya untuk memajukan pengetahuan, budaya, dan kehidupan komunal, program ini bertujuan untuk menumbuhkan keterampilan berpikir kritis dan kemampuan memecahkan masalah di kalangan siswa. Selain itu, ia berusaha untuk memelihara kreativitas siswa, mematangkan proses berpikir mereka sebagai pemimpin masa depan dalam pembangunan pedesaan, dan memperkaya perspektif dan pengalaman mereka.

Abstract

Mirah chickens are Indonesian indigenous chickens that originate from Simalungun Regency, North Sumatera Province of Indonesia. The study aimed to determine the genetic characterization of Mirah chicken based on the mitochondrial D-loop region (838 bp). Twenty Mirah cocks from Simalungun Regency of Indonesia were used in the present study. The results showed that fourteen haplotypes were found in the studies of birds based on sixteen mutation sites. Therefore, these haplotype and nucleotide diversities in the partial D-loop region of the Mirah chicken were classified as high. The Median-joining tree revealed that the Mirah chickens were classified in a similar cluster with the Red jungle fowl (Gallus gallus). Ten haplotypes of birds were close to G. g. bankiva, and four haplotypes of birds were close to G. g. gallus. In conclusion, Mirah chickens had the genetic introgression from two sub-species of Red junglefowl, i.e., G.g. gallus and G.g. bankiva. Hence, the pure breeding program for Mirah chickens is important to conserve their genetic resources from extinction.

Abstract

The skin of the coffee fruit is plantation waste that can be used as animal feed because it is available in large quantities and contains quite good food substances; it's just that because it contains several anti-nutritional substances, it is necessary to pre-treat fermentation to reduce the anti-nutritional content and increase its nutritional value. This study aims to examine the effect of giving the skin of coffee beans fermented with tempeh yeast in rations on performance, liver weight, length and percentage of small intestine weight of broiler chickens aged 1 - 5 weeks. This study used the experimental method CRD (completely randomized design) with 5 treatments (P0 = control; P1 = 5%; P2 = 10%; P3 = 15%; and P4 = 20%) and each treatment had 4 replications. The results showed that the fermented coffee pods had a very significant effect (P <0.01) on ration consumption, body weight gain, and ration conversion; but had no significant effect (P> 0.05) on liver weight, length and percentage of small intestine weight.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of giving lamtoro leaf flour (Leucaena leucocephala) on the performance of male quail (Coturnix-coturnix japonica) aged 2-8 weeks. This research was conducted in the experimental field of the Faculty of Animal Husbandry, HKBP Nommensen University in Simalingkar A Village, Pancur Batu District, Deli Serdang Regency. The research data collection took place for 8 weeks starting from October to December 2021. The experimental design used in this study was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with 5 treatments, namely the level of giving lamtoro leaf flour in the ration P0(0%), P1( 1.5%), P2(3%), P3(4.5%), P4(6%), where each treatment was repeated four (4) times and each treatment consisted of 10 male quails. Parameters observed were ration consumption, daily body weight gain, and ration conversion. From the results of the study, it was found that the average consumption of quail rations fed with lamtoro leaf meal for 8 weeks of the study was 9.44 grams/head/day with a range of 9.32 – 9.70 grams/head/day. The average body weight gain of quail was 1.64 grams/head/day with a range of 1.53-1.75 grams/head/day. The average conversion rate for quail was 5.11 with a range of 4.75 -5.39. The results of the variance study (ANOVA) showed that the treatment of giving lamtoro leaf flour in male quail rations had a very significant effect (P<0.01) on daily body weight gain and ration conversion, but had a significant effect (P<0.05) on ration consumption. Based on the results of this study, it is suggested that the best lamtoro leaf flour can be given at the level of 1.5% to 3%.
