Abstract

ABSTRACTThe planed duration of  construction Project X was 730 days with the upper structure targeted to be finished in July 2020. There was delay in the beginning of project implementation and the expected duration became 745 days,  the upper structure completion date pushed back to October 2020. In order to keep in line with target, one of the alternatives was to change the formwork material from conventional to aluminium. By applying this change, there was a need to study the effects to the project duration, the upper structure finish date, and the additional cost. To calculate the project duration, and the labour coefficient of productivity using the motion and time study method, the completion time of aluminium formwork work is required. From the calculation, it can be concluded that it was more effective to apply an 8-zone of formwork division in every storey,  which will result in 711 days of project duration and the upper structure finish date will be in August 2020. The costs for the aluminium formwork which consisted of materials and labour fees amounted to Rp 7,991,548,555 or higher by Rp 1,000,000,000 compared to conventional formwork.

Abstract

Flood is a natural disaster which is caused by various factors and causes many losses. In Cibodas Park, Tangerang, especially Sangiang Jaya Village, it is recorded that it experiences flooding almost every year. This study aims to determine the factors that cause flooding in the area under study and provide a solution. The analysis carried out includes secondary and tertiary channels, which will be calculated by the Manning method to determine the discharge value of each channel, and then will be compared with the discharge value due to the maximum rainfall that occurs. Based on the calculation 36 of the 137 channels reviewed were not able to accommodate the discharge from rainfall that occurred during the 2 year return period. After analyzing it, it can be concluded that the flood in Taman Cibodas Tangerang, especially Sangiang Jaya Village, was caused by the lack of capacity of the existing channel to accommodate the discharge caused by the maximum rainfall. The solution for this is to redesign the existing channel, namely increasing the width and depth of the unsafe channel, as well as routine maintenance of the existing channel.

Abstract

Labor productivity has an important role in the success of a construction project, especially in Manado City where economic and population growth causes constructions need to increase. One of the jobs in construction that requires skilled workers is reinforcement work. In measuring labor productivity on reinforcement work, one of the methods that can be used is work sampling method. This Sampling method is done by categorizing the activities of workers into one of three categories, namely effective work, essential contributory work, or ineffective work. During the observation period, data are collected on activities that affect productivity when the workforce is in contributory work, and ineffective work to determine the factors that affect productivity on the project. After 8 weeks of observation data is obtained, the calculation steps are carried out such as data uniformity testing, minimum sample data test, and the calculation of labor effectiveness using the Labor Utilization Rate (LUR) approach and calculate productivity value based on the output of labor in kg/day/person unit. From the results of the calculations, the effectiveness of the LUR (Labor Utilization Rate) is 63,44%, with a productivity of 119,75 kg/day/person for reinforcement workers in Manado City.   Abstrak Produktivitas tenaga kerja memiliki peranan penting terhadap keberhasilan suatu proyek konstruksi, khususnya di kota Manado dimana berkembangnya ekonomi dan populasi menyebabkan kebutuhan konstruksi yang terus meningkat. Abstract

The success of a construction project depends on the control of cost, quality, and time. The earned value management (EVM) method is widely used, but it measures schedule performance in cost units, making its time prediction less accurate. As alternatives, the earned schedule (ES), earned duration (ED), and three-variance approach (TVA) methods were developed. This study compares the duration prediction accuracy of these four methods on a five-story steel shop house construction project on Jalan Setiabudi, Bandung. The performance indicators of each method were calculated from the first to the twenty-second week, then the duration estimates were compared against the actual duration to obtain the mean absolute percentage error (MAPE). The TVA Scheduled method produced the smallest deviation of 28.72%, followed by ES at 30.10%, ED at 34.29%, and both EVM and TVA Planned at 36.25%, all in the Reasonable category. TVA Scheduled, which uses the local work rate between consecutive weeks, adapts best to the earned value spikes of steel structural work, while EVM remains useful for cost control and infrastructural development.
