Abstract

Integration of digital technology in fiqh learning is an important aspect in the fast-paced information era, where access to educational materials is increasingly easy and diverse. This study aims to analyze the challenges faced in the application of digital technology in fiqh learning and identify effective strategies to overcome them. The research method used is a qualitative approach with literature studies and direct observation as the main data collection techniques. This study analyzes various academic sources, educational policy documents, and reports on fiqh learning practices that have implemented digital technology. In addition, observations were conducted at several fiqh educational institutions in Indonesia to understand the real context of technology application in learning. The results of the study indicate that the main challenges faced include lack of adequate training for teachers, inadequate technological infrastructure, and resistance to change from some parties. Nevertheless, the integration of digital technology has great potential in increasing student engagement and the effectiveness of fiqh learning. The proposed strategies include increasing ongoing training for teachers to improve digital skills, developing adaptive and responsive curricula to technological developments, and collaborating with third parties to provide necessary resources, such as learning software and applications. The conclusion of this study confirms that with the right approach, the integration of digital technology can enrich the experience of learning fiqh, improve understanding, and make fiqh materials more accessible. This study is expected to contribute to the development of more relevant and effective fiqh education in the digital era, as well as being a reference for educational policies that support technology integration.

Abstract

In the midst of the disruption of the digital era and the threat of moral degradation, learning to read and write the Qur'an (BTA) faces major challenges. Currently, BTA is often trapped in cognitive and psychomotor aspects alone—such as reading fluency—but ignores the affective aspect or internalization of spiritual values into the souls of students. This study aims to analyze the BTA learning strategy as a local content subject in its function to strengthen the foundation of students' faith and morals, beyond just the technical ability to read. This study uses a qualitative method with a library research approach. Data were collected through literature analysis related to local content policies, Qur'an teaching methods, and character building theories. The results of the study indicate that an effective BTA learning strategy must integrate three main pillars: A competency-based curriculum and regional potential that emphasizes etiquette. The talaqqi and habituation method that connects the verses of the Qur'an with practical monotheistic values. A holistic approach that positions the Qur'an as a bulwark against extreme thinking and radicalism. This research proposes a reorientation of Quranic reading and writing learning, from merely eradicating Quranic illiteracy to a strategic instrument for strengthening ideology (aqidah) and morality (akhlak) through a local content curriculum that adapts to the challenges of the times. Education policymakers at the regional level are advised to develop BTA curriculum guidelines that focus not only on administrative targets for reading acceptance but also incorporate indicators of character (akhlak) achievement as a primary requirement for graduate competency.

Abstract

Education is not only a teaching and learning process limited by four walls but also a process in which humans consciously capture, absorb, and appreciate natural events throughout the ages. IMFO was established in 1997 to coordinate the activities of the Indonesian Muslim Community in the Los Angeles area and its surroundings. The establishment of the At-Thohir Mosque began with the problems of Indonesian Muslims in the United States and in most other countries, who do not have a permanent place of worship. So, the lack of permanent places of worship is an obstacle for the young generation of Indonesian Muslims, especially in their efforts to learn and understand their place of origin. From an Islamic Religious Education perspective, this study explores the tactical steps IMFO and the At-Thohir Mosque took in addressing the current fire disaster. In this study, the researcher used the library research method, where the study used various literature, both books, notes, and reports from previous studies in collecting data, and also conducted direct interviews regarding the steps taken by IMFO and the At-Thohir Mosque in Los Angeles, United States in dealing with natural disasters such as fires. The study's results found that the mosque must also serve as a community-based disaster risk reduction centre and a place for Islamic education in the community, and the existence of the Mosque as a cultural heritage of our ancestors should continue to be preserved in community life. Keywords: Islamic Religious Education; Mosque; IMFO
