Abstract

Nurse performance is an important factor in supporting the quality of health services in hospitals. One of the aspects that can affect nurse performance is the compatibility between individuals and organizations or Person-Organization Fit. This study aims to analyze the influence of Person-Organization Fit on the performance of nurses at Thalia Irham Hospital, Gowa Regency. This type of research is quantitative with an ex-post facto approach. The population in this study is all nurses working at Thalia Irham Hospital, with a sample of 68 people determined through total sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using questionnaires that have been tested for validity and reliability. The variables studied included Person-Organization Fit as an independent variable and nurse performance as a dependent variable. The data analysis technique uses a simple linear regression test to determine the influence between the two variables. The results of the analysis showed that Person-Organization Fit had a positive and significant effect on nurse performance. This is proven by a calculated t value of 4.243 which is greater than the t of the table of 1.668 and a significant value of 0.000 which is smaller than 0.05. Thus, it can be concluded that the higher the level of compatibility between individuals and organizations (Person-Organization Fit), the better the performance of nurses at Thalia Irham Hospital, Gowa Regency.

Abstract

Traditional patchouli oil distillation exposes workers to heat, pressure, unsafe equipment, and limited safety measures. However, studies have rarely combined worker level statistical evidence on accident related factors with task specific risk prioritization in this industry. This study examined associations between unsafe actions, unsafe conditions, and occupational accidents and identified priority risks and controls. A cross-sectional study included all 130 workers in Benua and Lalembu Districts, South Konawe Regency, Indonesia. Data were collected using questionnaires, interviews, and direct observation. Associations were assessed using chi-square tests and odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals. Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Determining Control was used to connect hazard identification and likelihood severity assessment with the selection of practical controls. Overall, 73.8% reported a history of occupational accidents. Burns were most common (42.3%), and opening (58.5%) and closing (57.7%) vessels were the most accident prone activities. Unsafe actions (OR=4.10; 95% CI: 1.69–9.96; p=0.001) and unsafe conditions (OR=2.68; 95% CI: 1.13–6.35; p=0.022) were significantly associated with accidents. HIRADC generated a tas -specific hazard register, risk-priority ranking, and control plan. High priority risks included vessel explosions, hot surfaces, leakage, inadequate maintenance, and absent safety instruments and operating procedures. Integrating statistical association analysis with HIRADC provides a context-specific risk control framework for this understudied industry. The findings support engineering controls, inspections, standard operating procedures, training, supervision, and appropriate personal protective equipment, providing distillery owners and occupational health authorities with practical priorities for preventing severe accidents.

Abstract

Oil palm fertilization exposes workers to manual handling, repetitive movements, and non neutral postures, yet evidence is limited on ergonomic seating integrated into gingga machines used for fertilizer application. This study evaluated whether a redesigned gingga seat was associated with reduced musculoskeletal disorder complaints among oil palm fertilization workers. A quasi-experimental pretest posttest control-group study was conducted at an oil palm plantation in North Sumatra, Indonesia, from October to December 2025. Using purposive sampling, 84 eligible workers were allocated equally to an intervention group using gingga machines with redesigned seats (n = 42) and a control group continuing usual work (n = 42). Musculoskeletal complaints were measured using the Nordic Body Map and analyzed separately within each group using paired samples t-tests. The control group mean decreased from 61.45 to 60.80, a nonsignificant reduction of 0.65 points (p = 0.231). The intervention group mean decreased from 62.10 to 54.35, a significant reduction of 7.75 points or 12.5% (p < 0.001), with the group mean shifting from the painful to the slight-pain category. These findings suggest a potentially meaningful practical improvement following seat redesign. However, groups were not randomly assigned, baseline characteristics differed, and change scores were not compared directly between groups; therefore, a comparative intervention effect cannot be confirmed. The redesigned seats provide preliminary evidence for adapting gingga machines to workers’ physical support needs. Randomized or matched studies using anthropometric design, objective ergonomic measures, direct between group analysis, and longer follow-up are needed to confirm effectiveness and sustainability.
