Abstract

Attitudes and behaviors that are in accordance with the noble values of Pancasila are preserved by character education based on local wisdom. The character education program begins with providing knowledge of local wisdom values, exemplary, providing motivation, habituation and enforcement of rules. The aims of this study are to design, create and implement local wisdom-based character education by using flipbook-assisted digital literacy as learning media in online learning. The research method was carried out in three steps: initial, core and final stages. The study was conducted at SMPN 1 Arjasari class VII-D consisting of 30 students. The results show that the students have a high interest and curiosity towards the material presented in the learning activities. Furthermore, the students’ responses regarding the use of digital literacy media are 98% of them enjoy learning with the use of flipbook-assisted digital literacy media and 3% do not. In terms of the content in the material presented in the flipbook, 90% of them were very satisfied, 5% said they were satisfied and 5% were not satisfied. To conclude, the character education based on local wisdom with digital literacy media assisted by flipbooks is appropriate to be used during online learning, the characters that emerge from the learning process are curiosity, high motivation, obedient, discipline and care of the local culture.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the preservation of Sundanese culture in West Java which must be instilled in students through learning mathematics and students' mathematical understanding abilities. Based on this problem, an ethnomathematical-oriented learning media device for Sundanese local wisdom was developed through the spatial construction of the Bumi Alit Kabuyutan Site. The purpose of this study was to find out what types of buildings can be used as learning media for mathematics in Geometri and produce valid, practical, and effective mathematics learning media tools for the preservation of Sundanese culture as well as students' mathematical understanding abilities. The research method used is a mixed, namely the Plomp development method and the experimental method. The subjects in this study were class VIII Junior High School Bakti Nusantara in Bandung, West Java, with the sample consisting of 3 classes, namely the limited trial class, the control class, and the experimental class. The research instruments used include validation sheets, student activity observation sheets, implementation sheets of learning media devices, and student response questionnaires, and data collection techniques used include observation, interviews, and questionnaires. The ability of students' mathematical understanding of the geometrical material was measured using a student's mathematical understanding ability test. Data were analyzed by normality, homogeneity, and One Way ANOVA using SPSS. The results showed that (1) the resulting learning tools were valid, practical and effective, (2) the results of the One Way ANOVA test obtained a p-value 0.003 (sig < 0.05) value which indicates that the implementation of the developed learning tools has a significant effect. significant to the preservation of Sundanese culture and the ability of students' mathematical understanding.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the literacy skills taken by students in the mathematical thinking course through the use of digital media. The method used in this research is classroom research by observing the improvement of learning carried out in the mathematical thinking course class through the steps of the Hopkins model with a cycle of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The subjects of this study were students of the Mathematics Education Study Program at one university in Bandung totaling 34 people. The statistics used in this study are descriptive statistics with the data analyzed qualitative data. The data collected includes observations, questionnaires, reflections, and the Digital Games application on Microsoft Powerpoint. Based on the analysis of observations, it can be concluded that the use of digital games media in mathematical thinking courses can improve literacy skills. Based on the questionnaire analysis, students responded positively to the use of Digital Games media in mathematical thinking courses.

Abstract

Abstract: The background of the research is emerged by the importance to develop an appropriate learning model in realizing the Ministry of Education and Culture policy in 2020 on Merdeka Belajar-Merdeka. The objective of the research is to adapt and to transform the policy of Merdeka Learning-Merdeka into pratical use by developing a learning models Blended Learning aided by an application of Sevima Edlink in Mathematics classrooms. The research was conducted from April to June 2020. The research method used were literature study and observation. The participants were six students of Mathematics in their 4th semester. The finding showed that after the use of Blended Learning with Sevima Edlink, the average 90,83. Thus, is it cloncluded that Blended Learning using Sevima Edlink is appropriate in Mathematics learning process in order realize Merdeka Belajar-Kampus Merdeka policy. Abstract

Education is instrumental in shaping individuals and societies, with mathematics education serving as the foundation for critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Understanding multiplication and division concepts is crucial for young learners, as it provides the groundwork for advanced mathematical concepts. To enhance the learning experience and make it enjoyable, innovative teaching methods and creative teaching aids are essential. This abstract focuses on the implementation of a fun learning method, supported by recycling teaching aids, for multiplication and division learning assistance at Kober Bina Warga Mekarjaya. Kober Bina Warga Mekarjaya is a renowned educational institution committed to providing quality education to young learners. Recognizing the importance of engaging teaching techniques, the institution has adopted a fun learning approach to enhance students' understanding of multiplication and division. This approach integrates playfulness and creativity into the learning process, fostering an enjoyable environment and facilitating a deeper comprehension of mathematical concepts. One innovative strategy employed in this learning approach is the use of recycling teaching aids. These aids are created from recyclable materials, promoting sustainability and environmental awareness among students. By incorporating recycling into the learning process, students not only gain mathematical knowledge but also develop a sense of responsibility toward the environment. This approach encourages active engagement and nurtures ecological consciousness among young learners.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berbasis budaya dirancang untuk berfokus pada materi yang dikaitkan dengan budaya lokal daerah tempat siswa berasal dengan sesuai  latar belakang, pengalaman dan pengetahuan awal yang beragam dalam kehidupan sehari-hari yang ditransformasikan dengan budaya daerah lain di Indonesia dan budaya asing dalam mencapai keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa. Dalam mendukung tujuan tersebut, perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi transformasi budaya ini dihasilkan melalui sebuah studi pengembangan yang valid, praktis dan efektif. Penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode pengembangan Plomp dan metode eksperimen. Subjek penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas XI di salah satu sekolah yang berada di Kabupaten Bandung dengan sampel terdiri dari 3 kelas yaitu kelas uji coba terbatas, kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah observasi, wawancara dan angket dengan menggunakan instrumen penelitiannya adalah lembar validasi, lembar observasi aktivitas siswa, lembar keterlaksanaan perangkat pembelajaran dan angket respon siswa. Hasil penelitian dengan metode Plomp menunjukkan bahwa perangkat pembelajaran yang dihasilkan valid, praktis dan efektif. Hasil penelitian dengan metode eksperimen  terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi hasil Uji ANOVA One Way  p-value 0,002 (sig < 0,005) menunjukan pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap keterampilan berpikir tingkat tinggi siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan kurikulum global berbasis kehidupan sebagai upaya memperkuat pembelajaran kontekstual di perguruan tinggi, khususnya dalam penguasaan bahasa dan literasi, termasuk Bahasa Indonesia. Kurikulum ini dirancang agar mampu menjembatani isu global dengan kehidupan lokal mahasiswa melalui pendekatan pembelajaran berbasis kehidupan yang integratif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan Research and Development (R&D) dengan tahapan studi pendahuluan, perancangan model, validasi ahli, revisi model, dan uji coba terbatas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata skor adalah 4,6 sehingga dapat dikatakan sangat baik atau layak untuk digunakan. Dengan demikian kurikulum ini memperkuat pembelajaran kontekstual melalui integrasi konten kehidupan nyata, kolaborasi masyarakat, serta pemanfaatan Bahasa Indonesia sebagai media ekspresi, refleksi, dan pemaknaan kehidupan global. Kurikulum ini juga mampu mendorong karakter mahasiswa yang produktif, kreatif, dan reflektif terhadap isu-isu global dan lokal.

Abstract

Pola bilangan merupakan materi pokok dalam pembelajaran matematika yang penting untuk dipelajari oleh siswa jenjang sekolah menengah pertama dalam berpikir logis, menemukan keteraturan, memahami konsep lanjutan dan menyelesaikan berbagai masalah kontektual dengan menerapkan konteks matematika kedalam kehidupan sehari-hari terutama aktivitas siswa. Tantangan yang dialami oleh siswa dalam mempelajari materi pola bilangan terdapat pada penyelesaian soal cerita. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita melalui metode penelitian kualitatif dengan desain fenomenologi hermeneutik. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes tertulis dan wawancara. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kesulitan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi pola bilangan adalah: (1)siswa kurang memahami dalam memproses informasi pada cerita teks, (2)siswa kesulitan dalam menentukan data yang relevan untuk membentuk pola, (3)menemukan aturan perubahan pada pola, apakah pola bertambah tetap atau tidak tetap sehingga sulit menentukan suku berikutnya, (4) memahami maksud soal dalam cerita dan menghubungkan data dengan penyelesaian soal yang tepat. Hasil penelitian diperoleh temuan bahwa faktor penghambat kesulitan yang dihadapi oleh siswa adalah pemahaman siswa tidak lengkap dalam membaca teks dan menerapkan konsep yang berbeda  (epistemologis), adanya materi secara kompleks bagi siswa (ontogenik),  proses pembelajaran yang dilakukan siswa kurang efektif (didaktis) sehingga diperlukan desain didaktis yang dapat meminimalkan hambatan belajar yang dialami siswa khususnya dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita pada materi pola bilangan.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a valid, practical, and effective STEAM Project-Based Learning (PjBL) instructional device to improve junior high school students’ critical thinking and mathematical argumentation skills. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) method using the Dick and Carey instructional design model, which consists of nine systematic stages. The participants were eighth-grade students in Bandung Regency. The instruments included expert validation sheets to assess validity, teacher and student response questionnaires to evaluate practicality, and pre-test and post-test instruments to measure effectiveness. The product was validated by two experts in media and subject matter. Practicality was determined based on teacher and student responses, while effectiveness was measured using the N-gain score. The results indicated that the developed instructional device was highly valid and feasible for implementation. The material expert validation achieved an average score of 96.48%, and the media expert validation reached 95.25%, both categorized as very high. The practicality test showed very positive responses, with teacher responses averaging 95% and student responses 93%. Furthermore, the effectiveness test demonstrated high N-gain scores of 0.75 for mathematical critical thinking and 0.77 for mathematical argumentation skills, indicating significant improvement in both competencies.
