This research is an analytical research with a cross sectional research design. The population is 105 MKJP family planning acceptors. The sample was 56 respondents. The instrument used was a questionnaire sheet. Data were analyzed using the Chi Square Test. The research was carried out from 1 to 12 July 2022 in Pinang Merah Village, Simpang Limbur Health Center Working Area, West Pamenang District. The results of the research show that there is a relationship between physical evidence and MKJP family planning acceptor satisfaction (p = 0.000), and there is a relationship between reliability and acceptor satisfaction with a value of p = 0.000. Service quality has a close relationship with acceptor satisfaction because service quality provides an encouragement to acceptors to establish strong relationships with the Community Health Center. As society's demands for quality health services increase, service functions need to be improved to provide acceptor satisfaction.

Abstract

Reproductive health issues that often occur among teenagers, especially adolescent girls, include menstrual disorders. Dysmenorrhea is a common menstrual disorder among teenagers. Dysmenorrhea causes discomfort in adolescents, necessitating management to alleviate it. This research is a quasi-experimental study with a two-group pretest-posttest design to determine the effectiveness of consuming young green coconut water on dysmenorrhea pain among female students at SMKN 10 Muaro Jambi in 2023. This study was conducted from January to July 2023. The study population consisted of all tenth and eleventh-grade female students in the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 105 individuals. The sample size was 30 respondents, selected using the quota sampling technique. Data collection was conducted using the Numeric Rating Scale to assess dysmenorrhea pain levels in adolescents. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney tests. The results showed that young green coconut water (p-value 0.002) significantly affected dysmenorrhea pain in students, as the p-value was < 0.05. Young green coconut water effectively reduces dysmenorrhea pain in students. Therefore, schools are encouraged to promote the use of young green coconut water to address menstrual issues, including dysmenorrhea pain, making it a recommended method to alleviate and reduce dysmenorrhea pain.

Abstract

Reproductive health in women is currently a health issue that still needs attention, as reproductive health is not just about being free from diseases and disabilities related to the reproductive system, functions, and processes, but also being physically, mentally, and socially healthy as a whole. This study is a quasi-experimental research with a two-group pretest-posttest design to determine the effectiveness of consuming ginger decoction on dysmenorrhea pain in female students at SMKN 10 Muaro Jambi. The study was conducted from January to July 2023. The research population consisted of all 10th and 11th-grade students in the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 105 individuals. The sample included 30 respondents selected using quota sampling techniques. Data collection was carried out using the Numeric Rating Scale to assess dysmenorrhea pain levels in adolescents. Data were analyzed univariately and bivariately using the Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests. The results of this study indicate that ginger decoction (p-value 0.001) significantly affects dysmenorrhea pain in female students, as the p-value is less than 0.05. Ginger decoction is effective in reducing dysmenorrhea pain in female students. Therefore, it is expected that the school will promote health regarding the use of ginger decoction to address menstrual issues, including dysmenorrhea pain, which can be recommended to reduce and alleviate dysmenorrhea pain.

Abstract

Anemia remains a public health concern, especially among adolescents and women of reproductive age. Midwifery students are a high-risk group due to intense academic demands and irregular eating habits. Natural-based interventions such as date extract and citrus fruits may help improve hemoglobin levels. The aimeds to determine the effectiveness of date extract combined with lemon and lime in increasing hemoglobin levels among midwifery students at Poltekkes Kemenkes Jambi. This study used a quasi-experimental design with a two-group pretest-posttest approach. A total of 40 students were divided into two groups: date-lemon and date-lime combinations. The intervention lasted for 7 days, and hemoglobin levels were measured before and after using a digital Hb set (Easy Touch). Data analysis used Wilcoxon and Mann-Whitney tests with a significance level of 5%. Both groups showed significant increases in hemoglobin levels after the intervention. The increase in the date-lemon group (from 11.505 to 12.890 g/dL) was higher than in the date-lime group (from 11.425 to 12.145 g/dL). Statistical analysis revealed p-values < 0.05 for both groups, indicating a significant effect, with the lemon combination being more effective. Both date-lemon and date-lime combinations effectively increased hemoglobin levels, but the combination with lemon showed greater effectiveness. This natural intervention may serve as an alternative approach to managing mild anemia among young adults

Abstract

Stunting instances persist in Suka Maju village, and there is a lack of a health disclosure program emphasizing the significance of 1000 HPK nutrition to avoid stunting. Additionally, there is a lack of projects to empower skilled young cadres. Teenagers have a crucial role in preventing stunting by being potential parents and catalysts for change, possessing extensive information about nutrition, and adopting healthy eating habits in their teenage years. This project aims to augment the involvement of young leaders and young individuals in understanding the significance of the initial 1000 days of life, with the aim of mitigating stunting in the hamlet of Suka Maju Kec. Mestong Kab. Muaro Jambi by the year 2023. The activity commenced with a survey of the location and an assessment of the needs of the partner areas, specifically the two villages and the surrounding regions. This was followed by the training of a group of six teenagers and 20 young adults. During the training, participants learned about the importance of using anthropometric methods to measure nutritional status, how to categorize nutritional status, how to properly use anthropometric tools, better health promotion strategies for teens about balanced nutrition, how to keep teens from having nutritional problems, and the role of teen leaders in stopping stunting. The training utilized effective instructional methods and empowered the cadres to plan and execute health promotion initiatives focused on preventing stunting and improving nutrition

Abstract

Background : Adolescence is an important stage for starting high-risk behavior, including in the realm of sexuality. Race or ethnicity is an important factor related to sexual behavior. Perpose: to evaluate the behavior of adolescents in engaging in high-risk sex from the perspective of their respective ethnic cultures. Methods : This systematic review followed the 2020 version of the PRISMA guidelines. The initial search was conducted from April to June 2023. Search sources from 4 databases, using 5 keywords: adolescent, sexual behaviour, high-risk behaviour, sexual risk, and reproductive behaviour. Criteria: observational study, using English, 2000 to 2023, school adolescent population. There were 1,492 papers found after searching the database. The systematic review contained the final 11 research following screening and eligibility determination. Results : Overall, high-risk sexual behavior appears to demonstrate no significant differences among Latino, Hispanic, European, and American adolescents. However, in Asia, pre-marital sex remains highly stigmatized in contrast to its acceptance in Europe and America. Acculturation emerges as a critical predictor contributing to increased high-risk sexual behavior. In Latin adolescents, a lack of compliance with family ties (Familismo) strongly correlates with high-risk sexual behavior. Moreover, in Hispanic adolescents, paternal discipline seems to have a greater association with high-risk sexual behavior compared to maternal discipline. Notably, there were no discernible differences among ethnicities concerning gender, indicating that males across these groups were more prone to engaging in high-risk sexual behavior. Conclusion. Sex education is a prevalent topic among Western societies, primarily aimed at curbing unsafe sexual behavior to prevent venereal diseases. In contrast, Asian cultures still regard sex education as taboo, placing emphasis on preventing extramarital sexual activity.
