Abstract

The aim of this research was to know the effect of chicken manure and potassium on the yield and quality of sweet corn. The research used a Randomized Block Design Factorial with 2 factors and 3 replications. The first factor is chicken manure: A0 (0 Kg/ha), A1 (10 Kg/ha), A2 (15 Kg/ha) and A3 (20 Kg/ha). The second one is potassium fertilizer: K0 (0 Kg K2O/ha), K1 (90 Kg K2O/ha),K2 (120 Kg K2O/ha), and K3 (150 Kg K2O/ha). The result research showed a not significant increased in the yield and quality of sweet corn. The combination of treatment A0K2 gave the best yield and quality.

Abstract

Cemilan adalah makanan dan minuman yang dipersiapkan atau dijual oleh pedagang kaki lima di jalanan dan di tempat-tempat umum yang langsung dikonsumsi tanpa pengolahan atau persiapan lebih lanjut (WHO, 2006). Jajanan sehat dan bergizi sangat penting dalam berperan memberikan asupan energi dan gizi bagi anak khususnya usia sekolah. Namun seiring perkembangan zaman semakin banyak bahan kimia yang dikembangkan dan digunakan sebagai bahan tambahan dalam jajanan dan makanan. Kasus keracunan Indonesia yang paling sering dilaporkan dari tahun 2004-2014 adalah keracunan akibat pangan jajanan dan keracunan akibat pangan olahan. Pada Tahun 2014, Badan Pengawas Obat dan Makanan melakukan pengujian terhadap pangan jajanan dan hasilnya adalah dari 13.536 sampel terdapat 11.871 (87,69%) sampel yang memenuhi syarat dan 1.665 (12,31%) sampel tidak memenuhi syarat (Rahayu, 2014). Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan pada hari Rabu 12 Juni 2024 di Kecamatan Sawang. Pengabdian ini dilaksanakan secara mandiri dan terlaksana dengan baik sesuai dengan tujuan yang diharapkan oleh pelaksana.

Abstract

Storage of cereal is a section of the stage post-harvest and helpful for maintaining food availability against crop failures and natural disasters. The losses yield commodity cereal happened at the stage storage caused by Rhyzopertha dominica. This study aimed to determine the comparison population R. dominica and damage to rice and sorghum based on the storage period. The types of cereals used are rice and sorghum. The research was arranged in a completely randomized design (CRD) with the treatment of storage periods for rice and sorghum consisting of five levels is storage for 40, 60, 80, 100, and 120 days. Observation parameters included population R. dominica and damage as well increased moisture content of rice and sorghum. Data obtained from the observations were analyzed using analysis of variance.  The results showed that the population of R. dominica and damage more happened to sorghum than rice based on the storage period. The storage period of 120 days could increase population R. dominica, damage and moisture content of rice and sorghum. Knowledge of the storage period for rice and sorghum give information so that not to stored rice and sorghum for long time periods
