<![CDATA[ This article examines the Christian approach to the presence of LGBT people within the church through the theological perspective of Letty M. Russell. LGBT issues are a complex social and theological reality that creates tension between the church's fidelity to the moral teachings of the Bible and its call to live out Christ's inclusive love. This research employs a literature review method, examining various theological sources, particularly Letty M. Russell's thoughts on God's hospitality, justice as a right relationship, and contextual hermeneutics. The results demonstrate that the "accept the person, reject the sin" approach requires a deeper understanding so that it does not legitimize discrimination or exclusion, but rather represents a balance between love and truth. In light of Russell's theology, the church is called to be a community that presents God's hospitality justly, recognizing every human being as the imago Dei, and distinguishing between the dignity of the person and the reality of sin that damages relationships. Thus, the church's response to LGBT people is not merely normative-doctrinal but also pastoral, relational, and oriented toward the restoration of the faith community. This approach encourages the church to build honest, empathetic dialogue rooted in just love. AbstrakArtikel ini membahas pendekatan Kristen terhadap keberadaan kaum LGBT dalam lingkup gereja melalui perspektif teologis Letty M. Russell. Isu LGBT merupakan realitas sosial dan teologis yang kompleks serta menimbulkan ketegangan antara kesetiaan gereja terhadap ajaran moral Alkitab dan panggilan untuk menghidupi kasih Kristus yang inklusif. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode studi literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai sumber teologis, khususnya pemikiran Letty M. Russell tentang hospitality of God, justice as right relationship, dan hermeneutika kontekstual. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa pendekatan “menerima orangnya, menolak dosanya” perlu dipahami secara lebih mendalam agar tidak menjadi legitimasi diskriminasi atau eksklusi, melainkan sebagai bentuk keseimbangan antara kasih dan kebenaran. Dalam terang teologi Russell, gereja dipanggil menjadi komunitas yang menghadirkan keramahtamahan Allah secara adil, mengakui setiap manusia sebagai imago Dei, serta membedakan antara martabat pribadi dan realitas dosa yang merusak relasi. Dengan demikian, respons gereja terhadap kaum LGBT tidak hanya bersifat normatif-doktrinal, tetapi juga pastoral, relasional, dan berorientasi pada pemulihan komunitas iman.
