Abstract

Research and devocation carried out the identification of the community aims to local food and socialization prevention as well as treatment of pest infestasion Sitophilus zea mays L. with natural pesticide, this activity carried out Bikekneno in the village, in South Mollo, Regency South-Central Timor, East Nusa Tenggara province. The event was held in a survey, socialization anda research into prevention as well as to pest infestation handling Sitophilus zea mays L. with natural pesticide. Based on the research food in the form of a corn plant food followed (59,6%) nut rice, arbila (19,0%), rice (13%), peanut (13%), green bean (12%), long beans (3%), squash wax (1%), and mos low (0%)beans maize. From this data be said that the village Bikekneno people food still in the form of a corn plant as prime food. Backup storage of food to villagers Bikekneno mostly kept in the furnance of fire found houselocal furnance. The food was influential storage pest shed on the growth oftenresulting in damage to food after people to harvest in the garden. If corn therefore a socialization of prevention as well as treatment of pest infestation Sitophilus zea mays L. With pesticide know the leaves of the pandanus, colored leaves, breadfruit leaves and the regulation of temperature in the good Bikekneno storage reserve in the village

Abstract

This research aims to determine the use of plants in traditional medicine. This ethnobotany study is quantitative and descriptive and includes exploratory survey techniques and interviews. The research sample included 30 people who identified as shamans/healers or had expertise in medicinal herbs. In this study, quantitative descriptive analysis was employed to analyze the data. Indonesian names, local names, scientific names, family names, organs used, and their advantages are all recorded. Species Use Value is used to calculate the use value of a plant species (SUV). The Dawan community (Amanatun) used 42 species found in this study to cure 30 ailments divided into 13 disease categories. Based on the species use value (SUV) assessment, Dawan (Amanatun) has a pretty high confidence level in 13 of the 42 medicinal plant species identified. Zingiber officinale Rosc. has the highest use value (SUV of 0.97), whereas Milletia sericea (Vent.) has the lowest value (SUV of 0.03).ABSTRAK: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan tanaman sebagai obat tradisional. Nilai guna paling tinggi yaitu Zingiber officinale Rosc. (SUV sebesar 0,97), dan terendah yaitu Milletia sericea (Vent.) (SUV sebesar 0,03).

Abstract

Background: Learning independence is essential for students who must plan, monitor, and evaluate their learning, yet evidence from resource-constrained secondary-school settings remains limited. Objectives: This study examined changes in the learning independence of 29 eighth-grade students after project-based learning (PjBL) was implemented in biology at SMP Negeri 3 Soe, Indonesia. Methods: A one-group pretest–posttest design was used because the available dataset contained complete paired observations only for the class receiving PjBL. Learning independence was measured using a questionnaire administered before and after the intervention. Descriptive statistics, the Wilcoxon signed-rank test, and a paired-samples t-test as a sensitivity analysis were used. Results: The mean score increased from 37.79 (SD = 1.76) to 46.41 (SD = 3.47), representing an 8.62-point improvement. The reported paired-samples test was significant, t(28) = 14.16, p < .001, with a very large standardized mean change (Cohen’s dz = 2.63). The nonparametric analysis also indicated a significant pretest–posttest difference (p < .05). These findings suggest that PjBL may support learning independence by requiring students to plan tasks, manage time and resources, make decisions, monitor progress, and reflect on project outcomes. However, the absence of an analyzable control group limits causal inference. Conclusion: Future research should use controlled designs, report instrument validity and reliability in detail, and examine which PjBL components most strongly support students’ self-regulation.
