Abstract

This article was a complete report of investigation on theeffectiveness of blind fold game in teaching speaking. Speaking is one of the basicskill that requires the process of communicative competence, pronunciation(intonation, stress, and pitch), grammar, fluency, vocabulary and comprehensionin order to build a good communication. English teacher must apply a techniquethat is more interesting and enjoyable in teaching and learning process especiallyin teaching speaking skill. One of the most important reasons for using game issimply that they are immensely enjoyable for both teacher and student. Thisresearch used pre-experimental design. The researcher took one class whichconsists of 23 students as the data of this research. Pre-test and Post-test weregiven to take the score of student’s. All of the data are analyze statistically byusing SPSS. 21.0. The statistical analysis showed that from the table of pairedsample t-test showed that significance is 0.000. So that 0.000 0,05, and t table intable t test t table. 26,785 0,5%. The hypothesis of the research is accepted andimplementing Blind Fold Game is effective as method to engage studentsspeaking.Keyword: Speaking, Blind Fold

Abstract

ClassDojo is one of the form of virtual classroom that can be used to monitor every student’s behaviour during learning sessions. The purpose of this study is to examine the effectiveness of using ClassDojo is supporting students’ basic grammar. This research follows a development research using ADDIE design. The poppulation in this study consist of grammar students at Bahasaku Inggris course. The primary issues addresed in this research is students boredom in grammar class. Data were collected throgh test questionares. Data analyss technique included descriptive and stasistical analysis. Descriptive data analysis covered the feasibility of learning and achivement of indicators. Inferential data analysis included pre requisite tests such as normality test and t-test using SPSS 26.0. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov test result shows a value of 0.101 for the Pre-Test and 0.054 for the Post-Test. The Shapiro-Wilk significance value is 0.056 for the Pre-Test and 0.038 for the Post-Test. These datas show that the distribution is normal. The research findings indicate that implementing the ClassDojo application as a learning tool has a significant impact on students

Abstract

This study aims to describe the literacy skills of teachers in mathematics learning at SD Negeri 2 Gondosuli. The research method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive research type. The location of the study was at SD Negeri 2 Gondosuli, Gondang District, Tulungagung Regency. The subjects of this study were 12 teachers at SD Negeri 2 Gondosuli. The data collection techniques for this study were observation, interviews, questionnaires, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that teachers who have digital literacy skills can be identified through their ability to use digital devices, search for information and digital learning resources, knowledge and skills in applying digital products, and attitudes and perspectives in digital literacy. In general, teacher competence in mathematics learning is good, especially in understanding digital technology and its implementation in learning. Teachers also have a positive perception of the influence of digital literacy on student learning outcomes, are able to facilitate digital collaborative learning, and identify obstacles and solutions in the use of digital technology. This study provides an important contribution as a reference for elementary school teachers to develop their digital literacy skills in order to improve the quality of learning in the digital era.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the implementation of digital literacy in mathematics learning at SMP Kristen Sendang. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques in the form of questionnaires and documentation. The subjects of this study were 1 mathematics teacher and 40 students in grades VII, VIII, and IX. The results of the study indicate that digital literacy has been implemented through the use of technological devices, digital-based learning media, and online learning resources. Teachers play a role in guiding students to utilize technology effectively in understanding mathematical concepts, while students demonstrate the ability to access, analyze, and utilize digital information for learning. However, several challenges such as limited access to technology and variations in students' levels of digital understanding are obstacles that need to be considered. This study concludes that the implementation of digital literacy in mathematics learning has great potential to improve the quality of the teaching and learning process, but requires support from infrastructure and increased digital skills for teachers and students.

Abstract

Generation Z, who grew up in the digital era, strongly prefers using technological media as a learning tool. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of using technological media, such as Canva Simple Booklet and Kahoot Game, in learning Translation courses. This research is quantitative research using pre-experimental research methods. In this research, researchers collected data by conducting pre-tests, treatment, and post-tests. In the first session, students take a pre-test to understand the material on translation procedures before using technological media. Then, the researcher carried out treatment using Canva media based on the Simple booklet. Then, the researcher gave a post-test after the treatment was carried out. The result is increased student grades after using technological media as treatment. The average post-test value is higher than the pre-test value, namely 79.96% < 56.88%, and the significance is smaller than 0.05. From these values, it can be seen that the use of technological media is significantly effective for student learning.

Abstract

Code-mixing and code-switching have become common phenomena in this multilingual era. In Indonesia, this refers to the use of English and Indonesian. This needs to be investigated regarding how the implementation of it especially in the education sector and how students perceive it. This research focused on Mathematics Education Department students whose background was non-English students, thus it can bring new understanding related to the use of code-mixing and code-switching on other departments which closely related to English itself. This research used descriptive qualitative to analyze the implementation and students’ perception of code-mixing and code-switching. Observations and interviews were conducted to obtain data. Therefore, it was found that code-mixing and code-switching were implemented during English teaching and learning process, especially when the lecturer explaining material, giving information, and interacting with students. Hence, even though the students lack of English mastery, they were able to understand the material, information, and instructions conveyed by the lecturer.

Abstract

  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Project Based Learning (PjBL) dan self-efficacy terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik mata pelajaran IPAS kelas IV di SDN 1 Tanggunggunung. Latar belakang penelitian ini adalah rendahnya keaktifan dan hasil belajar peserta didik akibat dominasi metode ceramah dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain pra-eksperimental tipe one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah seluruh peserta didik kelas IV yang berjumlah 20 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa tes hasil belajar dan angket self-efficacy, yang dianalisis menggunakan uji t dan regresi linear berganda dengan bantuan SPSS 26. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: (1) Model PjBL berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar (thitung = 5.486 > ttabel = 2.110, sig. = 0.000); (2) Self-efficacy berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap hasil belajar (thitung = 4.140 > ttabel = 2.110, sig. = 0.000); dan (3) Secara simultan, PjBL dan self-efficacy berpengaruh signifikan terhadap hasil belajar peserta didik (Fhitung = 48.675 > Ftabel = 3.55, sig. = 0.000). Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa integrasi model pembelajaran yang aktif dengan faktor psikologis internal peserta didik secara sinergis dapat meningkatkan hasil belajar secara optimal. Penelitian ini merekomendasikan penerapan PjBL dan penguatan efikasi diri sebagai strategi dalam pembelajaran IPAS.

Abstract

Social Studies learning in junior high schools still faces the common problem of low student motivation and creativity due to the dominance of conventional methods and unengaging instructional media. This study aims to develop an educational video using the Canva application as an alternative digital learning media for eighth-grade Social Studies at SMP Negeri 1 Pucanglaban. This research employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, which includes the stages of Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The research instruments included expert validation sheets, teacher and student response questionnaires, creativity tests, and student motivation questionnaires. The validation results indicated that the Canva-based educational video met the criteria of content, visual, and technical validity. Trial results showed that the media was found to be practical for teachers and easily accessible for students via digital devices. Its effectiveness was evident through increased student creativity, demonstrated by indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. Furthermore, students’ learning motivation also increased significantly, especially in terms of attention, material relevance, self-confidence, and learning satisfaction. Thus, Canva-based educational videos are suitable to be used as innovative Social Studies learning media that promote active engagement and optimal student development.

Abstract

Writing is an important English language skill for students to learn. As technology advances, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is becoming a significant trend with diverse applications. AI has penetrated various industries, including education. The emergence of artificial intelligence (AI), specifically ChatGPT, offers a new avenue to improve writing skills. ChatGPT with its capabilities will provide feedback and support in generating ideas in writing. This study aims to see whether there is a significant influence on the writing ability of grade XI students after using ChatGPT at SMAN 1 Karangrejo. This study used an experimental quantitative method for data collection. The participants of this study were 60 eleventh-grade students, 30 students from class XI-D (control class), and 30 students from class XI-E (experimental class). The instrument in this study was a test, namely a pre-test conducted before treatment, and a post-test conducted after treatment. In analyzing the data, the researcher used the t-test method on the SPSS program. The results showed that students who used ChatGPT had an improvement in writing compared to students who were taught with the usual method. This is proven by the significance value of 0.00<0.05, which means that there is a significant difference in the initial and final scores of students who were given the treatment of using ChatGPT for the writing process. Based on this, it can be concluded that ChatGPT significantly affects the writing ability of eleventh-grade students of SMAN 1 Karangrejo.

Abstract

Group investigation is able to make the students involved from the planning, writing, until the completing of writing, both in determining the topic as well as a way to learn through investigation. One thing that differentiates it from other cooperative learning model is the model has a major focus group investigation of an object or topic to write. The investigation has provided opportunities for students to argue, think critically, do the findings and analyze collaboratively. The use of this model will also allow students to achieve success in learning, thinking skills and social skills. This learning model allows students to develop the knowledge, abilities, and skills totally in a learning environment that is open and democratic. Students are no longer as an object of learning, but can also act as tutors for their peers. The application of the model group investigation in writing class that implements the practice of speaking directly, authentic and natural is in line with efforts to improve and develop characters. Natural context in learning writing makes the learning process designed more meaningful. Learning to write by using a theoretical model of group investigations involving students in planning, exploring and sharing ideas. Students are encouraged to collaborate with friends and learn the "how" of their own in accordance with the cognitive style of each. Students empowered as the learners are able to argue, work hard, share, help peers, and have affection to friends.
