Abstract

This community service activity aims to plant mangrove tree seedlings that are expected to be used as pollutant absorbers and prevent seawater abrasion, educational facilities, carbon storage, and coastal tourism. The method used is by conducting lectures and direct practice by planting mangrove tree seedlings. This service activity is carried out in several stages including observation, coordination, execution, and evaluation. Observations were made by coming to Tirang Beach to determine the location for planting mangrove seedlings. tirang beach was chosen due to beach abrasion due to rising seawater and abrasion. The coordination stage is carried out by the community service team together with the Tirang beach manager. The aim is to coordinate so that community service activities can run smoothly and on target. The execution was carried out by planting mangrove tree seedlings on the beach, especially those affected by abrasion. While the evaluation is by looking at the deficiencies that were carried out during community service activities. The activity of planting mangrove trees is beneficial for increasing public awareness of environmental concerns by planting trees and for reducing greenhouse gas emissions so as to reduce impact global warming.

Abstract

PT. Citra Bahari Shipyard is a shipping company that uses Airbag Ship. Identification of hazards in the ship launching process using Job Safety Analysis(JSA) Guide Notes on the American Shipping Bureau (ABS) 2013, The procedures and processes that occur during the analysis and the equipment used are also what obstacles occur as well as solutions to these obstacles so that the launching process at PT. Citra Bahari Shipyard can run optimally. The purpose of hazard control measures in the launching process is to find out the potential hazards that can later cause work accidents and to obtain safe conditions from a launching process. The method that the observer uses is the method of directly observing the state of affairs in the field. Then conduct interviews with several parties related to ship launching and library study methods, namely by reviewing notes and reports that have to do with the launching of the ship with relevant sources. Then data processing is carried out to obtain control of the potential dangers and consequences that have been known so that it is hoped that potential hazards that cause injuries and material losses can be minimized. The result of this observation is that the control that has been carried out does not eliminate the danger completely, but minimizes the consequences of the potential dangers that exist from the ship launching process.

Abstract

Perguruan tinggi di Indonesia saat ini sudah mencapai 2000 lebih perguruan tinggi. Perguruan tinggi bisa tetap eksis salah satu faktornya adalah dengan adanya mahasiswa yang masuk ke perguruan tinggi tersebut. Dalam penerimaan mahasiswa baru setiap perguruan tinggi tentunya tidak sembarangan, mereka akan melakukan seleksi terhadap calon mahasiswa agar mendapatkan mahasiswa dengan kualitas yang mereka harapkan. Ada beberapa cara dalam melakukan seleksi calon mahasiswa, diantaranya ada yang berdasarkan nilai rapor, ada yang melalui tes tertulis, dan ada jalur mandiri. Tidak semua perguruan tinggi melakukan pengolahan data yang masuk secara maksimal. Biasanya mereka masih mengolah data secara manual atau dengan kata lain belum menggunakan machine learning. Masalah yang ada yaitu adanya perguruan tinggi yang belum secara maksimal dalam mengolah data penerimaan calon mahasiswa. Karena belum optimalnya data yang diolah maka ada perguruan tinggi yang belum dapat membuat prediksi dalam penerimaan calon mahasiswa untuk di tahun ajaran berikutnya. Salah satu untuk dapat membuat prediksi di masa mendatang adalah dengan menggunakan data mining. Metode yang akan digunakan dalam data mining adalah klasifikasi Decision Tree dioptimasi dengan Particle Swarm Optimization. Hasil dari Decision Tree dengan optimasi Particle Swarm Optimization didapatkan akurasi sebesar 99,94%.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kesadaran, pemahaman, dan keterampilan masyarakat di sekitar Waduk Kedung Ombo mengenai pentingnya penggunaan alat keselamatan pelayaran untuk mengurangi risiko kecelakaan dan meningkatkan keselamatan aktivitas di perairan waduk kedung ombo. Permasalahan yang Dihadapi Masyarakat adalah masih rendahnya Tingkat Kesadaran Masyarakat di sekitar Waduk Kedung Ombo yang sering mengabaikan pentingnya alat keselamatan pelayaran seperti penggunaan jaket pelampung keselamatan dan kurang memahami pentingnya penggunaan alat komunikasi darurat, tidak memiliki kemampuan untuk membeli alat keselamatan yang memadai karena keterbatasan ekonomi, kurangnya program penyuluhan dan pelatihan dari pemerintah setempat tentang keselamatan pelayaran. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan partisipatif yang melibatkan masyarakat secara aktif dalam seluruh tahapan kegiatan. Tahap Pendahuluan dengan cara melakukan observasi dan wawancara, kemudian tahap Pelaksanaan dilakukan melalui pertemuan dengan masyarakat, pengenalan jenis-jenis alat keselamatan pelayaran, melakukan pelatihan penggunaan jaket pelampung dan alat keselamatan lainnya, dan di akhiri dengan simulasi penyelamatan darurat. Selanjutnya tahap Evaluasi dan Keberlanjutan berupa evaluasi perubahan pengetahuan, sikap, dan praktik masyarakat, melaksanakan pengembangan mekanisme swadaya untuk pengadaan alat keselamatan, dan diakhiri dengan penyusunan rencana tindak lanjut bersama masyarakat. Kegiatan ini telah berhasil meningkatkan kesadaran, pengetahuan, dan keterampilan masyarakat terkait keselamatan pelayaran. Pendekatan komprehensif yang diterapkan, meliputi edukasi, pembentukan keterampilan, pengadaan alat, pengembangan kebijakan dan terbukti efektif dalam menciptakan perubahan perilaku yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

The sea is where many ships travel to various destinations. One of the ships sailing on the sea is a tanker. The tanker was loaded with liquid material that was likely to be loaded with oil. Tankers loaded with oil have the possibility of accidents such as fire. It has been the case of ships that have experienced fires. One of the problems is that the use of an inert gas system has not been implemented on ships, even though this system is very helpful in minimizing the occurrence of fires on ships. With this research, it can be expected that we know the method of operating the inert gas system and the working system of the inert gas on the tanker. In this study, I used several methods, namely: Conservation, Interviews, Documents, and literature in this way the author got some data to get this research. The result of this study is to minimize the occurrence of accidents on ships.

Abstract

This paper provides a comprehensive analysis of the multifaceted challenges Indonesian maritime cadets face in mastering Maritime English (ME) terminologies. It aims to synthesize the linguistic, psychological, and pedagogical barriers contributing to the persistent gap between international proficiency standards and cadet performance, and to evaluate evidence-based interventions. A qualitative literature review was conducted, synthesizing findings from peer-reviewed research published since 2019, with a focus on Indonesian Maritime Education and Training (MET) institutions. The findings reveal a complex, interconnected system of challenges. Cadets' difficulties are rooted in foundational linguistic deficiencies, particularly in vocabulary and pronunciation, which are significantly exacerbated by predictable first-language (L1) interference from Bahasa Indonesia. These struggles fuel a debilitating psychological cycle of communication apprehension and low confidence. This cycle is perpetuated by a pedagogical ecosystem often characterized by a "curriculum-reality chasm," outdated teaching methods, and a lack of qualified instructors. Conversely, the review identifies significant positive outcomes from implementing Task-Based Language Teaching (TBLT) and high-fidelity simulator-based training, which effectively bridge the gap between classroom theory and professional practice. This study contributes a holistic framework that connects these disparate challenges into a coherent system, providing actionable recommendations for key stakeholders. The paper's novelty lies in its synthesis of recent, context-specific research to inform a targeted strategy for closing the ME proficiency gap, ultimately enhancing the safety and global competitiveness of Indonesian seafarers.

Abstract

The Indonesian shipping industry has been greatly impacted by the advancement of information and technology, particularly with the introduction of the Integrated Information System (SIT), which facilitates more effective resource management for shipping businesses. Every manager and executor in the maritime industry must practice technical and structural management in order to strengthen maritime human resource capabilities and boost national competitiveness. By using SIT in the context of contemporary businesses, this study seeks to revitalize the Human Resource (HR) management database and enhance the competences of Indonesian sailors. The researchers investigate the efficacy, advantages, and difficulties of reviving an integrated database in human resource management by carrying out an extensive literature review. Interviews and a thorough analysis of numerous relevant information sources are part of the descriptive qualitative research methodology. According to the research findings, operational effectiveness, data-driven decision-making, and the general caliber of human resource services can all be improved by reviving seafarer competency development through the use of an integrated database design in seafarer human resource management. But there are still obstacles to overcome, such reluctance to change and concerns about data security. In order to enhance marine human resources, all stakeholders must work together to revitalize Indonesian sailors' competencies through an integrated database.
