Abstract

Local community empowerment in tourism villages is required to enhance community participation in community-based tourism (CBT). English learning programs in tourist villages are generally carried out as incidental community service programs. Because of time constraints and insufficient methods, the results are subpar. Therefore, an effective and efficient English learning model designed specifically to improve the communicative competence of the community managing tourist villages is required. This study aims to bridge government programs to improve tourism human resources, particularly in the community of Cibuntu, a tourist village in Kuningan Regency. The ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) is used as a reference and conceptual framework in this study. This study intends to carry out the first stage of the ADDIE model, namely the Analysis stage, to identify the English needs of the Cibuntu community. To this end, a descriptive qualitative research method was employed. The information was harnessed by observing and interviewing members of local communities who involved in tourism activities. In addition, interviews with the local tourism office were conducted to determine the profile of foreign tourists. The results demonstrated the community's need for English competence, their current English skill, and the English skills they wish to achieve. Based on the results of the needs analysis stage, the next stage of ADDIE should be carried out in the future research.

Abstract

The restaurant industry is an important sector in the world of tourism and consumption, including in Indonesia. A successful restaurant depends not only on the quality of its food, but also customer satisfaction which encourages repeat visits. This research aims to analyze the influence of product quality on visitor satisfaction and interest in visiting the Ampera 2 Tak Restaurant, as well as testing the role of visitor satisfaction as a mediating variable. The method used is quantitative research with path analysis techniques involving 100 respondents who are visitors who have visited more than once. The research results show that product quality has a significant influence on visitor satisfaction and interest in visiting, both directly and indirectly through satisfaction. Visitor satisfaction acts as a mediator that strengthens the relationship between product quality and visiting interest. Therefore, restaurants need to continue to pay attention to and improve the quality of products and services to create a sustainable positive experience. The advice for restaurant managers is to maintain consistent product quality and provide friendly service, while visitors are advised to provide constructive input to improve their dining experience.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine whether customer loyalty, customer satisfaction, and restaurant service quality are positively correlated. In addition, research is being done on customer satisfaction as a mediator in the relationship between customer loyalty and service quality in restaurants. Purposive sampling was used to gather information from 300 patrons of fast-food restaurants using a questionnaire survey. Using Structural Equation Modeling with Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS) in SMART PLS 3, the suggested model's hypotheses were investigated. The study's conclusions support the notion that customer loyalty, customer pleasure, and restaurant service quality are all positively correlated. However, the association between customer satisfaction and restaurant customer loyalty is not mediated  by consumer satisfaction. This study emphasizes the significance of patron loyalty as a critical behavioral reaction in restaurants. The study's findings will help restaurant managers comprehend the vital significance that customer satisfaction and service quality play as marketing strategies to uphold and cultivate restaurant patron loyalty.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate how novice non-English department students in Indonesia describe their lived experiences of EFL learning in a TOEIC preparation class. The study included eighteen novice students from one vocational higher education in Jakarta who enrolled in a TOEIC preparation class using purposive sampling. Prior to the course, the participants took prediction tests, and their scores fell to the novice learners, and they were required to take a forty-hour preparation class. The participants have taken part in forty-hour TOEIC preparation classes. The primary source of data was semi-structured, in-depth phenomenological interviews. The data were analyzed using thematic analysis. According to the findings, several themes were elaborated. The findings uncovered what students gained and learned from the class, their learning difficulties, their learning strategies, and their plan to improve their English. In this study, the themes were broken down into several sub-themes to better elaborate on the participant's lived experiences and how they made meaning of their experiences. The findings strongly suggest policymakers such as EFL teachers, program and curriculum developers, and other stakeholders pay more attention to the students' voices stating that EFL learning goes to a unique and complex process. Thus, successful English learning cannot be achieved unless their needs and voices are taken into consideration.

Abstract

Smart tourism destinations (STDs) aim to improve the travelers’ experience and the local residents’ quality of life. However, existing research mainly focuses on the perspectives of tourists and ignores the attitudes of residents. Residents' attitudes signify their support for local smart tourism development. Without residents' support, STD-related projects may experience failure. This study fills this gap by exploring how perceived impact of smart travel/tourism (IST) and sense of leisure of well-being (SLW) contributed to residents’ overall quality of life (QoL). This study adopts quantitative method with questionnaire. The finding confirms the residents’ positive impact on smart travel/tourism in Zhuhai, China. Similarly, they residents also showed their approval on the leisure well-being. Additionally, the findings highlight significant relationships between the perceived impact of smart travel/tourism (X1), sense of leisure well-being (X2), and overall quality of life (Y). Residents' quality of life is significantly improved by positive perceptions of smart tourism impacts and leisure well-being. This underscores the importance of the local perspective in STD success. STD initiatives should prioritize enhancing these specific aspects for residents. This paper suggests that engaging the community and focusing on their perceived benefits regarding smart travel and leisure well-being will foster crucial support and ensure project viability. Abstract

This study aims to explore the psychological experiences of Generation Z entrepreneurs in Jakarta who seize opportunities in tourism-related businesses such as open trips, beauty services, laundry, culinary ventures, and souvenir shops. Using a qualitative phenomenological design, this research adopts an Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) approach to understand how young entrepreneurs interpret their entrepreneurial journeys in a rapidly changing digital era. Five Gen-Z entrepreneurs participated in semi-structured interviews, and the data were analyzed through a hermeneutic and idiographic process to capture the depth of lived experiences. The analysis revealed three superordinate themes: (1) self-confidence, characterized by technological mastery and optimism in facing business challenges; (2) independence, reflected in their preference for freedom of expression and anti-hierarchical work culture; and (3) pragmatism, denoting a lifestyle-oriented pursuit of financial freedom and comfort. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of Gen-Z entrepreneurial identity and offer practical implications for developing entrepreneurship education and character-building programs in both formal and informal educational settings.
