Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model using Educaplay media on the critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Samarinda in the 2024/2025 academic year. This type of research is quasi-experimental using a non-equivalent control group design. Sampling in this study used a purposive sampling technique with a sample size of 26 students each for the experimental class and the control class. The data analysis techniques used were the N-Gain test and the independent sample t-test. The results of the data analysis showed that the N-Gain value of critical thinking skills of students in the experimental class with an average of 0.41 was included in the moderate category, and the control class was 0.32 in the moderate category. The results of the hypothesis showed a sig. (2-tailed) value of 0.028 (<0.05) for critical thinking skills, where the sig. value. (2-tailed) <0.05 so it can be concluded that the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model using Educaplay media has a significant effect on the critical thinking skills of class XI students of SMA Negeri 2 Samarinda. This finding shows that the integration of PBL with digital interactive media can be an effective alternative to improve students' critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of the use of Augmented Reality (AR) technology in the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on improving students' questioning and critical thinking skills. The method used is a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent control group design. The subjects of the study were students of grade XI SMAN 14 Samarinda who were divided into an experimental class and a control class, each consisting of 20 students. The research instruments used were essay tests, observation sheets, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used were descriptive statistics (mean and standard deviation), N-Gain test, t-test (Independent Sample T-Test), and Normality & Homogeneity test using SPSS 25 for Windows. The results of the analysis showed a more significant increase in skills in the experimental class compared to the control class. The N-Gain value of the experimental class' questioning skills was 0.46 (moderate category), while the control class was 0.21 (low). For critical thinking, the experimental class obtained 0.51 (moderate), higher than the control class 0.33 (moderate). These findings indicate that AR integration in PjBL effectively improves questioning and critical thinking skills, and contributes to 21st century learning innovation.

Abstract

Brain Based Learning is an approach based on how the human brain works. This model creates a learning atmosphere that is in harmony with the way the brain naturally processes information, with the hope of increasing student participation and their learning outcomes. In its implementation, the Brain Based Learning model is combined with the use of Wordwalls as a learning aid. Wordwall is a technology-based platform that offers a variety of user-friendly quizzes, games, and activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the use of the Brain Based Learning model and Wordwalls on science process skills and student learning outcomes. This type of research is a quasi-experimental study using a Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The research instrument uses a test, with 10 essay questions, 5 questions to measure science process skills, and 5 questions to measure student learning outcomes. The sampling technique in this study uses the Purposive Sampling technique. To analyze the data, the researcher used the t-test with a significance level of 0.05. The results of the analysis show that the t-test obtained a sig. A 2-tailed test of 0.00 (0.00<0.05) for both variables indicates an effect of the Brain-Based Learning model assisted by Wordwall media on the science process skills and learning outcomes of 11th-grade students at SMA Negeri 13 Samarinda on the human sensory system topic.

Abstract

Active student participation is the direct involvement of students in the learning process which includes indicators, such as: giving opinions, giving responses, doing assignments, concluding, and presenting. Class X students at SMA Islam Samarinda have low active participation in learning activities. Therefore, the use of appropriate learning models and media is very necessary to attract students' attention so that students are more actively involved in learning activities. This study aims to determine the effect of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) learning model assisted by pop-up book media on students' active participation in ecosystem material for class X at SMA Islam Samarinda. The type of research used is quantitative research with a quasi-experimental method and uses a research design, namely pretest-posttest control group design. The sample in this study was class X-1 as an experiment and class X-2 as a control, where each class consisted of 25 students, so that the total sample was 50 students, with a sampling technique of simple random sampling. Data collection in this study used a student active participation questionnaire, with data analysis using a hypothesis test using an independent sample t-test with a significance level of 5%. Based on the research conducted, a 2-tailed significance value of 0.000 < 0.05 was obtained, indicating that the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model using pop-up books significantly influenced student active participation in ecosystems material for 10th grade students at SMA Islam Samarinda.

Abstract

The STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) approach is a learning method that integrates four fields of science to encourage problem-solving and creative thinking in a contextual manner. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs-based) E-Modules with a STEM approach in increasing students' creativity and learning outcomes on the Role of Fungi in Life material. The research used the true experiment method with a pretest-posttest control group design, involving students of class X of SMA Negeri 9 Samarinda which was divided into experimental classes and control classes. The instruments used are learning outcome tests and creativity assessment sheets that have been validated by experts. Data analysis was carried out with an independent sample t-test to test the significance of differences between classes, as well as N-Gain calculation to measure learning effectiveness. The results showed that the improvement in learning outcomes in the experimental class was relatively high with an N-Gain value of 0.73, while the control class was in the medium category with an N-Gain value of 0.42. The increase in creativity in the experimental class was also significant, especially in the aspects of flexibility and elaboration. The high category in the experimental class is achieved because the E-Module allows for self-exploration, project-based activities, as well as the relevance of the material to real life. In contrast, learning in the control class tended to be less stimulating to creative and reflective thinking skills. Thus, SDGs-based E-Modules with a STEM approach have proven to be effective in increasing students' creativity and learning outcomes, as well as supporting the development of 21st century skills.
