Abstract

The governance and recruitment of Human Resources (HR) within Islamic educational institutions are frequently confined to abstract-normative paradigms and traditional patronage practices, thereby undermining meritocratic principles. This research aims to simultaneously deconstruct and reconstruct the talent acquisition model in Islamic educational institutions through analytical, academic, and professional critical perspectives. This study employs a qualitative methodology featuring a library research design. Secondary data acquisition was executed via purposive text selection of reputable literature (2016–2026), subsequently analysed using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña, and validated through intertextual source triangulation techniques. The findings assert that recruitment effectiveness necessitates the conversion of theological-spiritual values into measurable performance indicators, the integration of digital agility, and the utilisation of the Hersey-Blanchard readiness taxonomy as a behaviour-based selection instrument to mitigate kinship bias. Theoretically, this study contributes to broadening the Person-Organisation Fit (P-O Fit) concept into a Person-Ideological Fit. The practical implications compel Islamic educational institutions to transform their ad-hoc seasonal recruitment paradigms into structured human capital management to ensure the sustainability of organisational quality

Abstract

This research highlights the transformation of human resource management in Islamic educational institutions from traditional approaches prone to nepotism toward meritocracy-based systems. Although literature on educational staff recruitment has been extensively explored, the integration of modern psychometrics and theological parameters within Islamic educational organizations remains marginalized. This study analyzes six essential selection dimensions: prerequisite rationalization that combines professionalism and morality, Person-Organization Fit calibration, instrument validity, hybrid assessment methodologies, implementation constraint mitigation, and cross-validation strategies. The novelty lies in an integrative framework that synthesizes rational validation metrics with prophetic leadership philosophy (Siddiq, Amanah, Tabligh, Fathanah). The proposed model measures theological integrity and scholarly competence cohesively through instruments with rigorous construct validity, no longer separating technical tests from subjective moral assessments. The implications affirm that precisely validated selection system reconstruction not only reduces placement malpractice but also orchestrates holistic improvement in quality, effectiveness, and competitiveness of Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

This study aims to reconstruct the implementation of Human Resource Management (HRM) operational functions while formulating adaptive teacher capacity development strategies toward creating a competitive advantage in Islamic educational institutions. The research method used is descriptive qualitative through a literature review approach (library research). The results indicate that human resources in the Islamic educational ecosystem represent a totality of intrinsic modalities that harmonize physical and spiritual dimensions. The actualization of this latent potential is managed through a mechanistic cycle of seven HRM operational functions, including moral-academic-based staffing, development, fair and decent compensation, maintenance, participative integration, discipline modeled after uswah hasanah, and ethical separation. Furthermore, to confront global disruptions, human resource governance is reconstructed into three pillars of competitive advantage strategy: strengthening integrated spiritual-digital-professional competencies, engineering a quality-oriented organizational culture, and internalizing Islamic work ethics based on prophetic traits (shiddiq, amanah, tabligh, fathanah). This synergy transforms the teaching profession from mere mechanical task executors into a form of worship and high-performing intellectual jihad.
