Abstract

This study analyzes academic and professional supervision in the implementation of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) learning evaluation in educational institutions. The research focuses on how supervision is planned, implemented, followed up, and connected to the development of authentic and holistic assessment. This qualitative descriptive study used in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation of lesson modules, supervision records, and assessment instruments involving principals, supervisors, and PAI teachers. Data were analyzed through reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings show that supervision has been conducted through planning, classroom observation, feedback, and follow-up; however, its practice remains dominated by administrative control and has not consistently strengthened authentic assessment. PAI evaluation is still focused on cognitive tests, while affective and psychomotor dimensions receive limited attention. The study argues that collaborative, reflective, and value-based supervision is needed to improve teachers’ professional capacity and Islamic assessment quality. Normative foundations from the Qur’an and hadith on amanah, justice, muhasabah, ihsan, advice, and leadership responsibility strengthen the ethical basis of supervision

Abstract

Digital transformation in education requires changes in learning assessment approaches, including in Islamic Religious Education (PAI). This article aims to analyze the concepts, urgency, approaches, and implementation of digital-based PAI assessment and its implications for improving learning quality. This study employs a literature review method by examining and analyzing relevant scholarly literature on educational assessment, digital technology, and PAI learning. The findings indicate that digital-based PAI assessment not only improves the efficiency, flexibility, objectivity, and transparency of assessment but also enables continuous evaluation through the utilization of learning data and students’ learning traces. The review also reveals that the effectiveness of digital assessment remains constrained by limited infrastructure, unequal access, digital literacy gaps, and risks related to academic ethics and integrity. In the context of PAI, the use of technology must preserve spiritual, character-building, and humanistic dimensions. Therefore, a blended assessment approach offers a strategic alternative by integrating the advantages of digital technology with pedagogical interaction and the continuous cultivation of Islamic values.
