Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women remains a health problem that requires attention because it may increase the risk of complications during pregnancy and childbirth. Regular Antenatal Care (ANC) visits are an important effort to detect and prevent anemia through maternal health monitoring, hemoglobin level assessment, iron supplementation, and education on adequate nutritional intake during pregnancy. This study aimed to determine the relationship between the frequency of Antenatal Care (ANC) visits and the incidence of anemia among third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of Dander Public Health Center, Bojonegoro Regency. This study employed an analytic observational design with a cross-sectional approach. The population and sample consisted of 40 third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of Dander Public Health Center, Bojonegoro Regency, selected using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed using univariate and bivariate analyses with the Chi-Square test at a significance level of p<0.05 to determine the relationship between the frequency of ANC visits and the incidence of anemia. The results showed that most pregnant women had ANC visits according to the recommended standard, while some had not met the recommended frequency of visits. Anemia was still found among third-trimester pregnant women. The results of the bivariate analysis using the Chi-Square test indicated a significant relationship between the frequency of ANC visits and the incidence of anemia among third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of Dander Public Health Center, Bojonegoro Regency (p<0.05). Pregnant women whose ANC visits did not meet the recommended standard tended to experience anemia more frequently than those who attended ANC visits regularly. There was a relationship between the frequency of ANC visits and the incidence of anemia among third-trimester pregnant women in the working area of Dander Public Health Center, Bojonegoro Regency. Improving adherence to ANC visits should be supported through health education, hemoglobin monitoring, adherence to iron supplementation, and early detection of anemia risk factors by healthcare providers.

Abstract

Perineal lacerations are a common issue among women giving birth, particularly during vaginal deliveries. Survey data from *Klinik Pratama S* indicates that among the total deliveries recorded, 40% of mothers experienced spontaneous perineal lacerations. Measures to reduce the risk of perineal laceration include preparing the pelvic floor muscles and perineal tissues during pregnancy through a combination of Kegel exercises and perineal massage. This study aimed to compare two methods of perineal management during childbirth: perineal massage combined with Kegel exercises versus perineal massage without Kegel exercises. The study was conducted at *Klinik Pratama S* in Bojonegoro using a static-group comparison pre-experimental design. The study population consisted of primigravida women with a gestational age of ≥36 weeks. The results showed a significant difference between the perineal massage group, the perineal massage with Kegel exercises group, and the control group, with a significance value (p) of 0.001 (p < 0.05). The group combining perineal massage with Kegel exercises proved more effective than the group performing massage without Kegel exercises or the control group p=0.0001. These findings suggest that healthcare professionals can improve the management and quality of midwifery services—specifically by providing comprehensive antenatal care (ANC) and encouraging pregnant women to practice perineal massage and Kegel exercises. Additionally, families and husbands are encouraged to provide support for these practices to help prevent or reduce the severity of perineal lacerations.
