Abstract

Abstract

Karang Taruna, is a social organization for the development of young people who grow and develop on the basis of social awareness and responsibility. Karang Taruna carries out its strategy optimally in order to be able to foster the younger generation, one of which is by holding meetings by inviting resource persons. This community activity in partnership with Karang Taruna aims to provide knowledge to members. Material in the form of solar energy as an alternative energy source. At the beginning of the activity, community service activity modules were distributed in the form of material on alternative energy and solar energy and a pretest to obtain initial data on participants' knowledge of alternative energy and solar energy. The community service activities for this youth group were divided into four sessions, the first session was pretest, the second session was presentation of material from resource persons, the third session was about questions and answers, the fourth session was posttest. The result of the activity was an increase in the knowledge of participants in community service activities from 26 participants, initially the participants' understanding was 73% good, 20% sufficient, 7% less increased to 93% good and 7% sufficient. This shows that community service activities are in line with expectations. In general, community service activities run smoothly. Participants took part in all sessions of community service activities. The activity participants were quite enthusiastic in participating in community service activities. In the question and answer session the participants were also quite active and enthusiastic.

Abstract

Abstract

The application of Internet of Things (IoT) technology in home security and comfort systems is constantly evolving. This research proposes the design and implementation of an IoT-based servo door lock system and home lighting control. The system is designed using the Wemos D1 microcontroller, a servo motor, an infrared sensor, a relay, and a light sensor. The results of this study indicate that the system can be effectively implemented and meets the design objectives. Based on tests conducted, users can access the door lock and control home lighting through a mobile or web application. The delay in executing commands from the application to the servo door lock system is approximately 38.93 seconds, while the delay to the relay system is about 34.83 seconds. Furthermore, the infrared and light sensors allow users to monitor the status of the door lock (open/closed) and lighting (on/off) via the application.

Abstract

This study presents the design and implementation of a real-time hand gesture recognition system for directional movement using MediaPipe and OpenCV. The system aims to enhance Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) by recognizing four primary hand gestures—forward, backward, left, and right—based on real-time video input from a standard webcam. The proposed method extracts 21 hand landmarks using MediaPipe, then analyzes landmark displacement to determine the direction of movement. Experiments were conducted under three lighting conditions (bright, moderate, dim) and at three distances (200 cm, 300 cm, and 450 cm). Results show that the system achieved 100% recognition accuracy for all gestures at 200 cm. At 300 cm, accuracy slightly decreased, particularly for backward gestures (down to 77.5%). At 450 cm, performance dropped significantly, with accuracy for some gestures falling below 30%, especially under dim lighting. These findings demonstrate that the proposed system performs reliably at short to medium distances and is sensitive to lighting conditions and user proximity. This research contributes to the development of touchless interfaces for smart environments, presentations, and other interactive applications.

Abstract

Modern aircraft have experienced rapid development at this time, which is proven by the discovery of more complex systems on aircraft. One of the systems that has experienced rapid development is the autopilot, which can control the aircraft automatically. The design of the pitch attitude system begins by collecting data on the longitudinal motion of the aircraft, which is then converted into a mathematical equation of the transfer function for the pitch motion. After the pitch attitude instability is identified, a compensator is made to improve the stability of the pitch motion, with the compensator used in this study being the lead compensator. The main objective of this study is to create a system that can identify parameter values on the Luenberger Observer control and sliding mode control (SMC) in the flight control system. The results of several test experiments clearly show that the proposed SMC controller can produce better and more stable system performance.
